To me it looked like the Griffs were on the receiving end of most of the ass kickings. Though who was that Rockford player who kept skating around suckerpunching guys who were already engaged in fights? I swear he was the third man in at least three different times.

Definitely a terrible game for Quincey. He was directly responsible for 3 of the 6 goals. Twice getting undressed by the rookie and once for not bothering to tie up his guy's stick on the deflection. Nearly the entire team crapped the bed, but Q's performance last night certainly doesn't help fears of how the Wings will do without Lidstrom and Stuart.

The mid to late 80s were fun because they had heavyweights like Probert and Kocur, plus plenty of other guys who would drop the gloves and throw big hits. Plus there was the young superstar Stevie Y. This team doesn't really have any of those components. I'm not sure what its identity is really. -

Agreed. Just clarifying they didn't actually kick him out, but yeah, the intent was to keep him from stirring crap up, which unfortunately is exactly what he's currently being overpaid for. -

They didn't throw him out of the game for it. they gave him a 10 minute misconduct, which takes him off the ice until the instigator rule kicks in. -

That's the thing. The Wings are going through a major roster change and likely a system change with it. I'm not sure what their system is now exactly. Whereas a team like the Blues can roll the same system they had last season. Stating the obvious but it'll be a challenge for the Wings to get it sorted in a 48 game season. -
