I guess McGuire forgot about Steen taking down Kronner by the throat.
-
That'd be nice. It should be 2 minutes roughing to Mule and 2 minutes unsportsmanlike to Backes for diving.
-
did they give him a major???
-
How does Steen not get called for taking Kronwall down by the throat? Looking at the replay, stupid play by Mule. He starts it, then a crosscheck to the face, then the punch.
-
Agreed. Though even when he gets angry, it's only for a gloved punch after the whistle.
-
Wow. Backes pulling a Sedin.
-
Flip takes a high stick to the face. no call.
-
It's been too long since I've read that in a GDT. NIce to see you back.
-
Raucous crowd there in St. Louis. good on them.
-
you'd be right. Smith 8 shutouts 2010 SA Quick 10 shutouts. 1809 SA Lundqvist 8 shutouts 1736 SA Halak 6 shutouts 1176 SA Elliott 9 shutouts 912 SA

what's funny is that play highlighted the exact opposite of what they were saying. E took the hit and made a calm pass to Abby.
-
It's the most frustrating thing about him. He's 6'3" and 216 lbs. That's an inch taller and a few pounds more than Stuart. But he gets knocked around out there like he's 5'10" and 185 lbs.
-
Kindl heard footsteps and lost the puck because he looked too concerned with the hit.
-
Wings are handling the Blues forecheck pretty well. Making good outlet passes and not getting rattled by the hits.
-
Kindl has gotten a couple nice quick shots off. Though I don't like him carrying the puck up on the PP.
-
great steal by Dats off the backcheck by Nyquist. Nice give and go between him and Nyquist too. I'm liking those two together.
-
not a good decision Kindl.
-
Quick actually leads the NHL with 10 shutouts, not Elliott.

please keep the discussion about the game and not complaining about a specific member. Argue the point being made, not the person. if part of a post has a personal attack or takes shots at anyone, I'm gonna delete the whole thing. Here's your chance to edit posts before I clean house.

I think he's a sore loser after games and in the heat of the moment. It's a sign of his competitiveness but also his immaturity. But in an interview situation he did say this: (jump to 1:53)
-
It was a clear charge. His skates were more than a little off the ice. And Stevens was a devastating but mostly clean hitter, certainly when it came to charging.
-
Agreed. Cherry was saying the same thing about Crosby. And Sid has talked like he's not going to play that kind of game, but it's exactly what he's doing again.
-
What I expected. At least Shanny got it right and called it a charge and not an elbow. Quincey took a flying leap but it didn't look like he threw his elbow out there. Maybe the fact that he's a repeat offender will cause Quincey to take fewer stupid penalties. Probably wishful thinking...
-
I'm so bummed the Kings traded him for Richards. Though maybe that increases the chances that one day he'll be a Wing? Just a great young player. Not afraid to go to the tough areas of the ice. Can score goals, hit, fight. And he's still improving.

I'm not saying I agree, just making a prediction based on what's happened this season. He left his feet and made contact with the head. I think the head contact was partly kopecky's fault and elbowing was the wrong call. But he did leave his feet and contact the head. Seems like that's going to get him something. It was a stupid play by Quincey, but he may have been upset still at the interference penalty he took earlier because of Kopecky. Quincey made what looked like a good play and Kopecky fell down (naturally) either as embellishment or just because he's a crappy skater. I couldn't really tell which.
