Even if you can't see it, Quincey is a much better than Kindl. He's no Lidstrom, but Quincey can handle big minutes, play on the PP and PK. Kindl is having trouble distinguishing himself enough to hang on to the 6th Dman spot. And I think your caps lock is stuck.

It depends on which Red Wings team shows up.

The split personality with this team continues...

Howard has started almost as many games in one season as Schneider has in his entire NHL career. Schneider has never played more than 29 games at the NHL level. That mean's he's never been a starter and had the pressure and responsibility that comes with playing 50+ games a season. He definitely looks promising but he's playing behind a very good Canucks team, and is still an unknown. He could just as easily go the way of Manny Legace.

Just another meaningless list. It is pretty funny that the guy has the Wings rated below a few teams that may not even make the playoffs. Seems like clinching a playoff spot should get you further up the list than someone on the bubble.

I get that. But with Radulov it's a little different because they're not losing a roster spot to a player brought in on trade. That happens a lot in the NHL and while it's got to be demoralizing, it's part of the business. With Radulov's return, they're losing their roster spot to a guy who was under contract but ran to the KHL for more money until he felt like coming back. To me that's going to add some extra sting to losing your ice time.

I'd be extremely disappointed if Smith spent next season in the minors. Even if they picked up someone like Suter, they should get rid of Kindl and bring Smith up. Kindl's not awful, but he certainly hasn't distinguished himself. And Q and Smith provide better versions of what Kindl is supposed to bring.
-
Quincey got put on waivers and was picked up by LA. That's not the same as running to the money in the KHL when you're under contract in the NHL. Radulov bailed on his team in very much the same way Hudler did.

The Official NHL Suspension Thread
haroldsnepsts replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Agreed. To me Doan's was more egregious in that he stuck his elbow out as he flew past him. Keith was at least going in for a hit. And Sedin should have at least been fined for his hit to the head on Keith earlier. Keith was admiring his pass but it looked like Sedin threw a shoulder up to clip him in the head. -
Which team would piss you off the most if they won the cup?
haroldsnepsts replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
Vancouver by a long shot. When Bettman went to hand Sedin the Cup he'd probably dive and drop it. Sharks are distant second. I've come to dislike Thornton and a few other players on that team over the years. -
I thought the NHL was trying to keep teams from hiding guys in the KHL and then bringing them in right before the playoffs. That's what makes this move by the league puzzling. Sure they had a contract with him, but it's not like it has been counted against the cap, has it? As much as people think the Wings get special treatment, I have to wonder if it being Nashville was a factor in their ruling. Helping a struggling franchise go deeper in the playoffs. The league ruling is what it is I guess. Now it'll be interesting to see how he does. It's certainly a nice position for the Preds to be in though since they'e basically got nothing to lose.

s*** on a stick. Helm has been one of our best and hardest working players night in and night out.
-
No. But right now they certainly look like a serious contender for the Cup.

This. He has a douchiness that seems to come from his every pore while playing on the ice, but that doesn't mean he's not incredibly talented. And dedicated. Unlike Ovechkin, Crosby keeps working on areas of his game and improving every year. And he's only 24. The only real question is his noggin. As much as I want someone to punch his fat whiny face when I watch him play, as a hockey fan it'd be a shame if we didn't get to see what he was capable of in a full career.
-
I completely disagree on Stuart. He looked gassed out there and was playing bigger minutes than usual. Both in TOI and level of competition. Smith seems to be coming along nicely. He better be in the lineup all next year. Overall the Wings look like a team with banged up defense and lacking depth. As was pointed out, our 4th line has no identity and is pretty invisible.
-
Kronwall and Stuart playing 27 and 26 minutes. Quincey with 21. We need some bodies back on D. Namely Lidstrom then, Ericsson. Lidstrom because he's Lidstrom, Ericsson can pick up PK minutes and allow the Wings to send Janik back to GR. He's a serviceable plug but it becomes apparent why Janik is a career AHLer.
-
Agreed. We're missing Franzen and our bottom pairing is Smith Janik. But the Wings should be able to overcome a little adversity.
-
I'd have to see a replay again but it looked like Abby pushed him into Jimmy. Just not sure if he made any effort to avoid falling on Howard. Kings win 4-2.
-
Nothing Jimmy could do with a Sharks player on his lap.
-
f*** san jose.
-
Friggin Flip looks awesome. Z almost gets Niemmi again tonight because he apparently never squares up when he's covering the post. Stuart looks gassed. The SJ play by play guy can suck a bag of dicks. His homerism is in full bloom now.
-
Wow. Nice goal by Clifford. He's another kid I'd love to have on the Wings. Mainly I want the Kings to make the playoffs. It'd be kinda nice if the Sharks missed them though too.
-
dammit. I not only want the Wings to win, I don't want the Sharks getting the loser point.
-
Honestly I think Stuart is just being asked to do more than usual with all the injuries on D. He and Kronner are basically the top pairing so he's playing more minutes and against tougher competition.

Wooohoo!
