Nick Lidstrom wins Norris trophy #7

Yes he was. I think Perry is a ******, but he's a talented player and was on fire the second half of the season, which I'm sure weighs heavily with voters. He played every game this season, over 22 minutes a night, scored 50 goals and had 98 points. In the push to make the playoffs he had 19 goals in the final 16 games. Led the league in third period goals and road goals. That's not a most valuable player to his team? I'm not saying he necessarily deserved the Hart, but he was absolutely the most valuable player on the Ducks this season and a large part of the reason they made the postseason.

Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?

That's what makes it even funnier. The cap hit is lower because of length of contract, but Luongo got paid $10 million this year.

Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?

Honestly I like a handful of players on that team and have been of many Canucks players over the years. I'm a big Kesler fan, though less so with the diving this playoffs. But in my experience with Canucks fans this season, both online and in person, they've largely proven to be obnoxious and condescending. They act like no one understands the game of hockey as well as they do. And beyond that, have some weird need to get fans of other teams to agree that the Canucks are a great team. It's bizarre. Add to that the way the Canucks played during this playoffs. The frequent diving, especially by the Sedins (it seems to be mostly Henrik) is embarrassing. They're certainly not the only guys in the league doing it, but I always hate when talented players flop like that. Kesler too. Then Burrows and his biting. Torres out running guys. It was a disgrace to the sport. Add that all together and it makes for an easy team to hate. Or at least root to lose. I have to admit I did get some joy thinking of all the arrogant a-hole Canucks fans I've run across this season suffering as their team choked in game 7. Just goes to show dominating in the regular season does not equal the Cup.

    Epic Boooing of Bettman

Agreed. I'm by no means a Bettman fan, but it spoils part of what should be a great moment in handing out the Conn Smythe.

    Wings unlikely to sign Osgood/Draper

I'm not giddy about it, but I think it's the right move. Osgood has just had too many injury problems and they're right in that he hasn't been able to play a lot of hockey the last couple seasons. And Drapes is a huge part of the the Wings history, but he doesn't offer much that can't be replaced by younger guys who could have a future with the team. It's more pieces of the 90's era ending.

I know they were booing Bettman at first, but it sounds like they're booing Thomas now.

No shock there. Thomas deserved it win or lose.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA My god. What a heartless team the Nucks are.

I'm trying to think of players on the nucks that I still have some respect for and would want to see lift the Cup. Malhotra is about it. There's been teams I've hated that I didn't want to see win the Cup (Chicago), but I can't remember just being embarrassed for a team like I am with Vancouver. Diving, whining, biting. It's been more like recess than the Cup finals. Agree with this too. I want Boston to win because Vancouver has been such ******* this playoffs and a portion of their fanbase is so awful, but I can't say I'm happy to see any of the Bruins lift the Cup either, other than Thomas.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

I think that's a pretty safe bet, unless the Bruins finally pull one off on the road or Luongo falls apart at home. There's certainly no one on the Canucks who deserves the Conn Smythe over Thomas.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

It takes a special kind of stupid to say something like that when you had let in 12 goals in two games. But then to come out and s*** the bed in Boston again is pretty hilarious. What did Vancouver expect for $10 million? A goalie who can play on the road? Is there a record for how many times a goalie has gotten the hook in the playoffs?

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

That's the thing, you can criticize a specific goal here and there for Thomas, about how Luongo would've stopped it because he stayed in net. But then again, maybe he wouldn't have. The biggest point is that as aggressive as Thomas's style is, it works 93.7 % of the time. Edited for a misplaced decimal point.

http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nhl/news/story?id=6652289 So Ro8erto 7uongo's feelings are hurt because Thomas hasn't said enough nice things about him? God. What a friggin cryass. He very well could add a Stanley Cup to his Gold Medal, winning both by being a decent goaltender with a great team in front of him.

    Aaron Rome

I honestly don't think they would. First off a lot of people think all of Steven's hits were like his highlight reel. But those were by far the most devastating. A handful of them would be. Kariya, Kozlov, Lindros. But the great proportion of them were from the front, arms tucked in, skates on the ice and while there may have been contact to the head, it was not the principal point. Typically they were crushing a guy in the chest.

You think people get hit because they don't want to avoid them?? Who wouldn't want to avoid getting crushed if it were that easy?

I know! It was a pretty amazing season to watch. I've got Probert's stats from '88 in my signature.

Actually they did make it to the Conference Finals two years in a row, where both times they lost to one of the greatest dynasties in hockey, the Edmonton Oilers. I wouldn't call that piss poor.

There's no way you or anyone can really have any idea as to what exactly gave Horton the concussion. Bert got one by turning his head and hitting his chin as he ran into Heatley. When you get hit that hard and your brain gets rattled that much, the hit alone and head snap certainly could've caused it as much as the impact to the ice.

The funny thing is, I think you actually believe that.
