And who would you have pick up the 23 minutes Ericsson played tonight? Right now, he's the #5 guy. With Kronwall out tonight he was #4. Salei played 14 minutes and Kindl 11. According to Babcock, Ericsson > Kindl and Salei. Sitting E and giving his minutes to either one of those two players makes this team worse. For someone who polices everyone here, you're being awfully negative. I'd rather hope that Kindl continues to develop and we have a fairly cheap, young, big bottom pairing with him and E. But that's just me. I'm an optimist.

Really? Tonight's game excepted, they have a goaltender that can be scary good and are a physical forechecking team. More often than not, that hard forechecking game rattles the Wings and they have problems scoring. I'd think they have a better chance against the Kings (sadly, since they're my second favorite team) and Ducks, and maybe even Chicago.

Like I said, he should be a "spotpicker" at least as you and his detractors use the definition. Him fighting all takers would be stupid and hurt his team. He doesn't need to be trading punches in meaningless fights against much less talented players. He's a talented player who fights. He's not an enforcer. I guess Shanny was a spotpicker too. Too me the phrase spotpicker is more about guys like Perry, who will try and fight Datsyuk.

This is the line that worries me. It's completely accurate. It just means that guys don't trust one another out there and aren't playing as a cohesive team. That's a hard switch to flip.

I know he gets some grief as a spot-picker on these boards, but honestly he shouldn't be going with any guy that wants to drop the gloves, because most times getting Lucic off the ice for five minutes in exchange for whoever he fought with is going to benefit the other team. It was a bit of a cheap punch to start by Rosehill. I was hoping he'd get clocked good for it.

Because Babcock evidently has a different opinion of E's performance than some people here. Being a whipping boy on LGW doesn't equal actually playing awful. That's my biggest disappointment with Salei. With age and injury, he's lost the edge I was hoping he'd bring to the team.

as a single, isolated incident, sure it could be called hooking. Given what had been let go in that game, particularly interfering with Z minutes earlier which was much more egregious, it shouldn't have been called. There was no consistency in the reffing tonight.

Sure, maybe MacDonald, though there may be better alternatives out there. I've been an Ozzy fan over the years, or at least not an Ozzy hater, but he doesn't make sense as a backup. He's never proven himself very good in the backup role.

I don't know what Bert was doing skating ass first into a hit, but it doesn't warrant any suspension. It was stupid, not malicious. The 5 and game was already too much. A couple seasons ago this would be 2 minutes, at most, but the league is struggling to figure out the headshot situation due to d-bags like Cooke.

Ok. so you're a Hawks or Preds fan in Michigan. MacDonald played great. Compared to Chicago, Detroit had little to play for. Why does Detroit want the second seed exactly? Sure they want to win, but compared to a team fighting to make the playoffs, that's nothin. It's not a bad excuse.
