Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand
haroldsnepsts replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I know. That's a really good thing. I don't think it'll take that long but there's plenty of time to spare for the hand to get healed and to get his game back together. With the crazy s*** Datsyuk can do with the puck, he needs his hands to be healthy. -
Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand

f***ity f*** f*** ******* s***balls f***. I guess the silver lining is it happened now so he'll be back with time to get it going again for the playoffs. -
Wha?? I agree Ozzy should get more starts, but Jimmy has played pretty well tonight and made some huge saves.
-
sorry dude. Thought you were serious. I guess I've seen too many posts like that were people actually mean it. Criticize a player and it must mean you hate them.
-
Why? because Luongo gifted him a goal? I'm a huge Zetterberg fan. That doesn't mean he hasn't looked a bit off. I'm so tired of this. There's room between criticizing a player and being a "hater."
-
woohoo! I need to question players offense more often!
-
He still looks great defensively, but yeah, offensively Z just doesn't have that extra gear or something. He looks that little bit off out there.
-
He definitely sold it, not coming back for the rest of the game. That's serious commitment to faking an injury.

Kesler is also having a tremendous year. He's a beast right now. Assuming he keeps playing the rest of the season like he is currently, it'd be hard to make a case as to how someone deserves it over him. Leads all forwards in ice time, second TOI/G on the pk, strong in the faceoff circle, great defensive player AND tied for the lead for goals on his team with 16 (since offense has become such a factor with the Selke). And honestly I'm with you on the pk thing. I think Datsyuk is awesome and I know it's blasphemy to say someone else may have deserved an award, but I think his gaudy takeaway stat gets too much weight in the Selke conversation. But I guess I'm old fashioned in thinking that the award should go more towards a Bob Gainey type guy, not a talented offensive player who is also defensively responsible. Either way though, I think it's going to Kesler this year if he keeps playing like this.

I don't know if I'd call it defending him, but it was a pretty straightforward assessment. "He's got to work hard. He's got to compete hard. He's got to find a way to dig in and challenge himself." I don't think many people question Hudler's offensive abilities. He's demonstrated it in fairly limited icetime in the past. But he's been a shadow of himself. For all the bashing I've done lately, I really do hope he gets going too. The Wings are definitely better if they've got a sniper like Hudler going.

Brett Lebda to start as Winger Tonight for the Leafs
haroldsnepsts replied to sixer's topic in General
That's what's so bizarre. The article makes it sound as if Lebda said he played 10 games as a winger last season. maybe he's just desperate to keep an NHL job... -
You know how Chicago seems kind of creepily obsessed ex-girlfriend when it comes to the Wings? Chanting Red Wings suck and whatnot during their Cup celebration... Yeah, a lot of you guys are that way with the Penguins.

Brett Lebda to start as Winger Tonight for the Leafs
haroldsnepsts replied to sixer's topic in General
The article even states Lebda saying it was more like 10 games he played at wing, not 18. Strange. I seriously don't remember him ever being moved up to wing. Maybe Toronto thought they were signing Meech? -
Box score has it as two for tripping Ribiero, which is how I remember it. Mule had his stick down around Ribiero's skates, and it's not gonna take much for that guy to fall down.

Lebda played 10 games as a winger in Detroit last year? I honestly don't remember that. Though I may be blocking out most of his play last season. I know bashing the Leafs is a popular sport among hockey fans, but signing Lebda for $1.45 million was seriously a head scratcher. He was not an unknown commodity, and pretty clearly headed down in terms of play, not up. -
Agreed. It's kind of amazing how the refs can supposedly see the trip, but somehow confuse Rafalski with Mule.
-
Yeah, you don't have a weird obsession with badmouthing Quincey at all. I don't know why anyone would ever think that.
-
Ouch. Concussion and now this. Tough season for Quincey.
-
seems like the way to beat the Wings, at least lately, is to forecheck the hell out of them. They tend to get flustered and turn the puck over. It was pretty much the formula Dallas used tonight, and LA a few nights ago.

You appeared in the GDT after a loss to judge how people are behaving here. It shouldn't be a shock that you aren't met with the warmest greeting. It'd be different if you had been discussing the game the whole time.
-
It's amazing that you apparently watched the game and could say something this stupid. You are the Steve Ott of LGW.com, minus the good parts. I can't tell if you're a really skilled and subtle troll, or if you're actually being genuine and you're just a miserable black hole of negativity. For your sake, I hope you're just trolling with the crap you post. Either way, I give up. Ignore it is.

are you kidding?? He made mindfly's day. Without Raf's screw up the Wings likely would've won and mindfly would've had to dig deep to find something to ***** about. Raf made it easy for him.
-
you must be very satisfied, since you have something to feel bad about now.
-
motherf***er. sorry ozzy. Honestly the Stars deserved this win. They completely outworked the Wings.
-
Especially when the player in question is Ribiero.
