They gave it to Raf, but that trip was on Mule.
-
They definitely got outworked in the third period. Dallas was all over them with the forecheck and the Wings couldn't handle it.
-
yes, that's generally how it works. It goes to shootout, then after that the game is over.
-
Overall I think Rafalski is a good defensman, but he's a perfect example of why you can't just use stats when it comes to players. So many times now he'll have game changing defensive mistakes, but also end up with a couple assists too so on paper it looks like he had a good game.
-
ah, I just assumed it was Ott. f***. awful turnover by Raf.
-
Just get shots on net boys. Raycroft is not controlling them well.
-
come on mule. That was some half assed dump and chase.
-
ok good. for a second there I thought that was somehow going to be on the Wings.
-
dallas forecheck is giving the Wings fits right now.
-
Dallas PP. 2 minutes for falling down.
-
Yup. Respect to Abby for going with him, but I wish we had someone in the lineup who could feed Ott his teeth.
-
it's nice to be on the other side of a late period goal.
-
Mule! Man he needs to shoot more. He gets it off so quick!
-
post! maybe both of them??
-
He definitely held his own, and got in a couple nice shots towards the end there. Go Abby!

Well, even if he does give another discount for his contract, i'm sure you'll find something to be disappointed in. All your contracts seem a little low, except Eaves.

First, that's not true. You'd get used to that salary and over an 82 game season, there's nights where you just don't have it in you. Second, you're missing my point. Even when you try your hardest, give it your absolute all, sometimes things are just that bit off. And at the elite level of the sport, the other team is going to make you look bad. That doesn't mean you're not trying your hardest.
-
This team has the third most points in the league behind Pittsburgh, which has one more point and played 2 more games, and Philly, which has 6 more points and played 3 more games. So again I ask, if one of the absolutely most successful teams in the NHL right now disappoints you so much, why do you bother to follow them? I suggest you try playing a sport on a regular basis. First, you'll realize that even when you're trying your hardest, sometimes you're just not at the top of your game. Things are a little off for some reason. Second, you might actually have fun.

A question you have yet to answer is why do you even watch hockey if it makes you this ******* miserable? Even if they win, you'll be pissed? Seriously. Don't watch. Go figure out what brings you even a tiny bit of happiness. The minuses are gone, but you're the only poster here who makes me miss them. - - - - -

I generally can't stand Perry, but his reaction made me dislike him a little less. He's often a douchebag, but he's having fun out there.
-
Nah. Lang was just sooo damn lazy he couldn't be bothered to suck this bad.
-
And hardly anyone went to those games, so it kind of validates the point he was making. If the Wings became a bottom dweller team again, I'm pretty sure attendance would drop significantly too. The Lions are the Detroit team of choice we seem to go watch no matter what.

People around the league consider Lidstrom as one of the strongest candidates for the Norris so far this season, and you're complaining because his +/- rating isn't to your liking? Lidstrom isn't your captain. He's captain of the Detroit Red Wings, not of mopey little ******* who whine incessantly.

And Hossa? Probie was nowhere near the same situation as Chelios. Probert had a long history of off ice problems with Detroit and needed a fresh start. He was signed as a free agent by the Hawks after Detroit was done with him. And as beloved as he was, wasn't the star player here in Detroit. By the time he went to the Hawks, he was on his way down. Then another big difference being the Cup wins and the two trajectories of the teams. The Wings at the top and the Hawks headed downward. What did Fedorov say that badmouthed Detroit? I've always heard him say good things about his time with the Wings. If you asked Chicago fans, I'm pretty sure they'd say Chelios spit in the face of the Blackhawks.

A couple things on the actual topic here. First, Hawks fans do have a creepy obsession with the Wings. Sorry, but changing "Red Wings suck" after you've won the Cup, in spite of not even facing them in the playoffs, is just weird. Same goes for chanting it at games against other opponents. That being said, I don't know that Detroit fans would behave differently if the Chelios situation were reversed. Cheli grew up in Chicago. Traded or not, he went to the Hawk's biggest rival (due to history and proximity). He came to detroit just after the Wings's second consecutive Cup win, in part because he felt (correctly) the Hawks were not doing the things necessary to improve the team. Imagine if Mike Modano played for the Wings for 9 years then played for the Hawks right after they won two Cups and won another Cup with them. There's a fair number of Wings fans who still boo Fedorov. If something like that happened, they sure as hell would boo during an awards ceremony. I guess that's a long way of saying in this instance I'm not surprised, especially given the Hawks fans already creepy fixation on the Wings. It's just too soon to expect the fans to let bygones be bygones and honor what Cheli did for that team.
