The camera operator was probably setting the backfocus. You typically zoom into someone's eyes because it's an easy spot on a persons face to tell if focus is soft. Then adjust focus and widen back out and your focus is set.

What is Kronwall doing? A poorly timed pass to Datsyuk. then just plain misses Salei. I seriously wonder about his focus sometimes.

2001 Sv% .903 with Detroit 2002 Sv& .910 with Isles then the next year his numbers went down with the Isles when he was traded to St. Louis. Though then on St. Louis it went back up to .910%. As for getting his number retired, I don't see it happening. It's the same problem with the HHOF (though he has a better chance there). Ozzy has been very good for a long time, but he's never really been elite. I don't see his number making it to the rafters.

Jeez. That is seriously some Slapshot style antics. Hilarious when it's in a movie, but I wouldn't pay money to actually watch that and call it hockey. And what kind of loser picks a fight with a goalie after he's already jumped a guy that's turtling?

I dont really see it as disrespectful, but the shootout is pretty much a ridiculous spectacle to me as it is, so this move is sort of splitting hairs to complain about it. To me the spinorama where the player runs into the goalie and slams it home in the shootout is a bigger deal because it shouldn't count. The funny thing about Omark's goal is when you see the angle from behind, it looks like he stumbles for a second on the fake slapshot and muffs his wristshot a little bit because it went off the heel of his blade, so it becomes this changeup shot. Everyone talking about how talented he is, but he basically scored because he muffed the shot.

Maybe not by the staff, but I'm guessing at least a couple of the Wings five Swedish players heard about it. Obviously not the end of the world. Just not very smart for a guy who I assume would like to be in the Wings lineup sometime in the near future.

I'd just like to say again, adding the opposition GDT to the one here at LGW is a terrible idea. All it will lead to is trolling, or people here littering this GDT with some feeling of superiority over the crap people post in their threads. But the crap that goes on here when the Wings lose is just as irrational and idiotic as most other teams GDT's. It's hypocritical and frankly just silly to mock them for their irrational reactions to losing. And more to the point, who the hell cares what they think?

I don't think most people are debating the truth of what he said. Just what a d-bag he is for shooting his mouth off when he has done nothing in his career. Great way to endear yourself to your NHL team. Rip on their current starting goaltender as well as their backup, who happens to be the second winningest goaltender in franchise history, behind Sawchuk. To me it's pretty obvious how it was an incredibly stupid thing to say publicly.

If he was as good as he says he is, he'd already be in the Wings lineup. Weird how the guy he "mopped the floor with" in the AHL is the Wings starting goaltender while Larsson is shooting his mouth off in Sweden. It's one thing to be cocky when you're Patrick Roy. It doesn't make you any less of an *******, but it at least means you're an ******* who's also a great goaltender. When you're a 24 yr old who hasn't done anything in his career, it just makes you an *******.

Assuming the translation is right, it sounds like he's basically saying he'll come back if the Wings give him a completely unearned opportunity to start in the NHL. And whether he's right or wrong about Ozzy and Jimmy, it's an incredibly immature and stupid thing to say. Because if he did get to play for the Wings, he's basically going to be alongside Jimmy and playing behind a lot of guys who won at least one Stanley Cup with Osgood and have been his teammate for years. They might not take too well to some rookie shooting his mouth off about their teammate and friend, particularly when that rookie hasn't done s***.
