I think part of it with Lids is that this team needed all the help it could get defensively. He's been playing more minutes than last year, which he shouldn't be. Now that they're getting their act together defensively (relative to a few months ago) and we're getting some guys back, hopefully they'll be able to reduce his minutes and he can put some more effort into offense. With Ericsson back, he's at least got one more defenseman to pitch in on the PK. And he's already looked much better the last couple games. Using his slapper more and getting involved in the offensive zone.

I think that's the key. Obviously to say he's bombing is ridiculous. But last season we were putting him as one of the absolute top players in the league, and he was. This season half the time he doesn't look that interested out there.

c'mon, this is LGW. Either someone is the greatest player of all time or they suck worse than anyone has ever sucked in the history of sucking. But after two 97 point seasons, and two 87 point seasons before those, he's on pace for about 60. That's a sizeable drop in one year.

True, but you hope your star players can step up and carry a big part of the load. Dats was the regular season MVP last year for the Wings, and they need him now badly. He has his moments, but just hasn't looked himself most games.

They weren't secondary assists. Both of his passes led directly to both goals, but you still don't want him in the lineup? He also had 3 SOG, on a team that can't seem to put the puck on net. Zetterberg is definitely not 100% out there, but the team is still better with him than without him.

Agreed. Unfortunately burrows isn't exactly the most reliable source. But it seems like there's credibility to his claims based on how awful that interference call was.
