I know. And I'm trying to be patient. part of it is I want him to look like the clear and away goalie for the Wings. The other part is that some of these gaffes aren't about technique, they're about decisionmaking. And sometimes that's much harder to correct.

Overall a good game from Jimmy. These 37 shots were nothing like against LA, but a solid performance. Though I'm getting frustrated with his rebound control. On that goal tonight he gives up a juicy rebound on a weak wrister he should've eaten. And he's still too tentative when the puck is loose around the net. It's fine in a game like this. But in tight games he can't be giving up chances like that. To be clear, I think he definitely deserves to be getting the starts, but he still has some holes in his game that he needs to lock down.

I know. It's be weird not to have Maltby in the lineup. But he's 37 years old and like I said, there's younger players who do what he does and have potential upside. It's not so much about the money since he's only making 750k, but it's the roster spot. MILLERTIME! Is he now the key to our PP??

And going forward, Draper is under contract for another season, but as much as he's a fixture on the Wings it's gotta be time to part ways with Maltby. With guys like Abby, Eaves, Helm, he's obsolete.

Definitely. We have our Draper and Maltby replacements. And it's great Dats and Z don't have to spend as much time on the PK if they don't have to.

He seemed to lose track of the puck a few times there, which makes me nervous. But it looks like it was taking some crazy bounces.

For offsides when a player knocks the puck out of the air, they should have it like any other offsides. As long as he has at least one skate out of the zone, the play is still good. It's too much of a judgement call to see if a player's glove is still inside some imaginary line. Plus if a guy can glove or stick it out of the air like that. good for him and keep the play going.

Lebda scares me when goes to throw a hip check. It's a good idea but he gets so damn low, I'm always afraid he's gonna take a guy's knees out.
