It's kinda sad that I'm hoping it didn't hit Miller so it'll be Lidstrom's goal.
-
LIDS!!!!!
-
they had the PP set up well, but their passes are still just that little bit off so guys have to take a second to corral the puck instead of one timing it.
-
what's up with the linesman not able to have a faceoff? that's twice now they've dropped the puck, whistled it and had to go again.
-
so far it looks like a hockey team actually showed up for Detroit. That's a nice change after last game.
-
Good goaltender. I always liked Cujo. It's too bad he never came together with the right team at the right time. 4th all time wins, and a career playoff sv% of .920. Pretty good considering some of those teams.

I thought of the other possible meaning after I had posted it. didn't know if that made it better or worse for a name.

The Haymakers Joey's Right Hand Osbad, Hasuck, and Cublow Probies Tighty Whities Katy Bar the Door Wah, Floppa and the Turtle (maybe that could be a children's book) I guess those don't really fit death metal/techno, but that's not exactly what I listen to. The Dead Things?
-
I'd venture to guess that was Salmela's first, and probably last fight. was that Backes stick? why didn't he drop it earlier? it looked like they both took some shots to the face from the stick alone.
-
Agreed. Thinking about it this morning, I still can't believe how rattled they looked by a simple forecheck. What an awful game.
-
It sounds like they spent the night in Detroit. They showed a clip of Babcock having them skate extra in practice, to get their legs going. He could feel this lack of effort coming, and was unfortunately right.
-
It's a tantrum. It's best to just let him cry for a while. Eventually he'll get all tuckered out and fall asleep.

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or disagreeing. I agree everyone sucked. My point is that the same couple people harp on Ozzy's play tonight, as if he cost the Wings the game. There's a much larger problem looming for this team that could be talked about. Thats my point.
-
It's pretty funny to me that after the way the Wings played tonight, a couple of the same people focus on Osgood. Yes, because that was the key to this loss. Tonight wasn't about goaltending. This team got beat to every puck. I don't know that I've seen the Wings look less interested in playing hockey.
-
I saw that, which is too bad. Minus the major turnover (which happens to every Dman once in a while), I think he's had an ok game. He made a couple plays around his own net that prevented even more scoring chances. Dats with 0 SOG, -1, a bad penalty, and 2 giveaways. Zetterberg hasn't been noticeable either, though he at least managed 3 SOG and is even, with 2 giveaways. Getting these players back hasn't rejuvenated this team. Hell it looks like it's done the opposite.
-
Good. This team deserves to be embarrassed tonight. I wish we had a third goalie like the Isles, so we could put him and have them run the score up.
-
I agree, but you're wasting your breath. You can pretty much guarantee that any Wings fan who calls Ozzy "Osbad" is a total moron. Especially when they single him out to rip on in tonights game. This team has been craptacular up and down.
-
Mods, why haven't you banned this troll? He's from Pennsylvania (bluemonk checked his IP address) and he only shows up to bait people in GDT when the Wings are losing.
-
The Wings are so slow tonight, by the time they wind up for the shot, there's at least a couple Isle's players ready to block it.
-
Wow. Wings getting dominated by the Isles. I thought they might come out slow, but not like this.

I don't really disagree with what you're saying. Honestly I just thought it would influence refs in more subtle ways. Like Homer tends to fall down and dive when he's stationed in front of the net. I think with some refs that keeps them from calling some of the more legitimate times he gets crosschecked. Same for a guy like Avery. That he wouldn't get the benefit of the doubt if he got taken down, whereas someone like Datsyuk would. I'm just surprised a ref would admit that he'd give a guy a bulls*** call at anytime during the game. Even if it's 5-1, in this days NHL sometimes these games turn on a dime.
-
Another fairly surprising admission by a ref, when talking about the Burrows incident. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2010/01/12/..._auger_burrows/ I can't believe would even admit that, though I'm not surprised it happens. Even if you get burned by a guy for diving, giving some bulls*** call when the score is 5-1 is still no way to deal with it. That ref just validated what a lot of fans have thought about officials. Though I still don't think it's a conspiracy against teams, this sure shows that some refs have it our for certain players.
-
True. I don't think Mick ever would. I'm just trying to make the distinction here that this was done by someone at Fox Sports broadcasting in Pittsburgh, not the Pens organization. Not that anyone in this thread seems to care about the difference.
-
Agree with absolutely all of the above. Man, seeing those penalties on Burrows, it's not hard to believe his story. The diving was pretty weak. It honestly just looked like he fell down. There shouldn't have been any call either way. And the interference is the most damning evidence of what Burrows is alleging. That was a total joke. And it's not like he's a frustrated player who's not scoring. He had two goals in the game. Wow. It'll be interesting to see what if anything comes of this.

I kind of do too. If Ozzy is playing well, I'd honestly probably feel better with him between them pipes, knowing what he did the last two seasons. But I would like to see what Jimmy is capable of, and I'm also a little annoyed at Ozzy's up and down regular season play. If he flipped the switch again, it'd be a nice problem to have to potential starting goaltenders, but still begs the question "why couldn't you play that way in the regular season?"
