About time Datsyuk! This team is showing some resilience.

Howard making big first saves. I've seen a few more snow angels from him than I'd like though...

I didn't see Scuderi's, but I thought Ott's was certainly penalty worthy, not so much a suspension. But you know the NHL, you gotta protect players' knees. Their brains however, are fair game.

Man, two awful goals by Osgood. This team can't seem to get its feet under it. If it's not one thing (like offense), it's another (like goaltending). Glad to see ZDH back together. I think it's the right move with the Wings limited offense. These team needs to kick into playoff mode. Whatever switch Ozzy flipped last playoffs, he needs to find it. Stuart and Kronwall need to look for some huge hits to get this team fired up. and EVERYBODY needs to start crashing the net. Flips line doesn't look too bad, but they mostly do fly-bys on offense. If they don't score on the first shot, that's it, because they're all circling around behind the net. Babcock needs to get these guys thinking its playoff time.

How did Ryan miss that?? Getzlaf hits the post. It's like the Leafs are trying to get rid of this lead. -

Hagman gets three pops at it. You better score. Im a little surprised they're keeping Hiller in there. -

wow. that's a really soft call to put the Leafs on a 5 on 3. The puck was loose in the crease. How is that goaltender interference? -

It's about this time in the game that Perry starts looking for the smallest guy on the other team. -

The first call was awful, but that was a dangerous hit by Niedermayer. To do that shorthanded?? great leadership there Scotty. -

The NHL should try to figure out how to get more turnovers into the game. I'm pretty sure it's what's making this one fun to watch. There could be a great scoring chance at any moment. 4-2 Leafs. -
He's definitely got the goods on offensive. The laziness usually manifests itself on backchecking and bad turnovers.

True. They were buzzing at the end though. I don't get why players give Niedemayer so much leeway to carry the puck into the zone. Yes has decent speed, but it's not like he's got crazy moves like Datsyuk. Why not play the body when he crosses the blueline? -

That fear is not unfounded. There's still plenty of time for them to screw it up. fun game though. -

This is seriously already the best game day thread I've seen here in a looong time. Why can't we get at least some of this in the ones for the Wings' games?? people talking hockey. talking about what's actually happening.. I could go on but I don't want to jinx it. Ducks-Leafs. I really can't decide who to root for. -
I don't know what you're seeing, but Booth isn't trying to stop. A slight turn of the skates is just skating, not stopping. It wouldn't have thrown off the timing that much. Watch it real speed.

I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't referring to the cleanness or dirtiness of the hit with "not that bad." It was clearly a hit from behind, illegal, and dirty. Rutuu had a long look at his numbers and rode him into the boards anyways and deserves his suspension. I could see even tacking on a couple games because it was such an easily avoidable hit. There was no last second turns of the body or anything. It was just shocking to me how Tucker dropped cold from that impact. I meant that as far as hits from behind go, that wasn't nearly as vicious as some I've seen, but it was still lights out for Tucker, which just goes to show how dangerous they are.
-
Surprised there's not a thread on this already. As far as hits from behind go, this wasn't that bad, but he drops like a ton of bricks.

Oh, are you a mod now? You're hilarious. Your position shifts like the wind, so long as you can keep up your smug debates. In the future I hope to reserve discussions for people who actually care about hockey more than arguing for arguing's sake. You can go back to polishing your debate trophies, I'm done here.
