I honestly don't think I'd fault Lebda for that one, but it was him and E on the ice again. They are seriously bad ju ju as a pairing.

Chicago, Vancouver, LTIR...
-
wow. quick shot off the inside of the post. It was like he just whacked at the puck more than shot it.
-
How painful is it that Quincey has played 20 minutes so far for the Avs and is basically out there to shutdown our top line.
-
Talk about snakebit. Bertuzzi is painting the posts black.
-
Big saves by Howard on the pk.
-
Nice move. That's the first time I've noticed Dats tonight, other than when he got uncharacteristically pickpocketed.
-
so I guess the intent to blow the whistle only applies when the goalie puts himself in the net covering the puck, but if the goalie's pushed in while covering the puck, no whistle??
-
I think you need to go to the emergency room. how many fingers am I holding up?
-
Raf with the bad pass and Ericsson couldn't handle it to bail him out.
-
wow. how did he end up alone in front like that. And roofed it on the backhand.
-
He doesn't quite have the offensive touch going yet, but he's looking more and more like Zetterberg out there.
-
Wings are doing a good job of clearing the rebounds away after Howard makes the save.
-
I just didn't want people forgetting about any of the great U.S. born players.
-
Howard looks big in net so far tonight.
-
Brian Leetch was pretty good too.
-
Ouch. Seemed like you could hear that high stick hit Stuarts face. What's up with them all tonight? And I still can't figure out why the first two were 4 minutes. It didn't seem like there was blood.

Draper pulling a holmstrom!

He caught nothing but Booth's head. Booth was caught looking a bit, but his head wasn't that low. I'm sure he didn't mean to crank him in the skull, but if you're gonna throw open ice hits, you're responsible when you miss. To me that's definitely a penalty, and he'll probably end up with a suspension. Live by the sword die by the sword.

Umm, no thanks. Legace can't even get a backup job in the NHL these days, as a healthy veteran goaltender.
-
Is Foote trying to get himself killed? He should know how to block a shot by now.
-
Even Stevens hit on Lindros, he got his body. This was nothing but head. Booth got caught looking, but his head wasn't that low. When you completely miss the body and hit a guys head, that's gonna be a penalty.
-
He didn't make any contact with the body and just clipped his head. Intentional or not that's a brutal headshot.

Charging? Boarding? Boarding: A minor or major penalty, at the discretion of the Referee, based upon the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, shall be imposed on any player who checks an opponent in such a manner that causes the opponent to be thrown violently in the boards. Charging: Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A "Charge" may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice. See above. Even hits from the front have rules limiting them. How am I twisting your words? you said there shouldn't be rules for hitting players that are vulnerable, then qualified it by citing one of the existing rules about hitting players that are vulnerable. He just "ran into" Brown? Isn't that called a check in the game of hockey? Brown was nowhere near the puck. At this level and for as long as these guys have played, most of them know when they should let up for a second. Whether it's to avoid a knee on knee, or crush a guy's head against the glass. He definitely did crush guys. Ovechkin has already racked up as many borderline plays as Stevens had in his whole career. so two wrongs make a right? If you look, I never called Ovechkin a dirty player. I don't know how many different ways I can say I like him as a player. But if he keeps it up, he may have suspensions in his future.

No, I'm with you. I was using Doc's reasoning in another thread.
