To be clear, in the article Brown doesn't ever directly comment on Avery or even having his lisp being mocked. That's something the journalist found out about and included. The only reference to it indirecly from Brown is The main part of the article was about Brown. Avery and what a douchebag he is came up because they were playing the Stars that night. It's not like Brown went whining to the press. He clearly tried to underplay it.

I thought I also heard them saying something to the effect of a players revolt. That they went to the owners complaining they were frustrated because there was no system. It's got to be frustrating for the Tampa players to have the team fall so far so fast. Melrose always seemed like an odd choice to coach Tampa. But canning him after 16 games makes it even more ridiculous.

I honestly don't really remember Barry bashing the Wings for years. He's always been a big Forsberg, and therefore Avs fan, but I can't say I remember him badmouthing the Wings. He actually used to be a Red Wing. Spent the last few years of his career up and down between the Adirondack and Detroit Red Wings. He then coached the Adirondack Wings for three years and led them to a championship before moving on to coach the Kings. I can't imagine he'd have bad feelings for the place his coaching career basically started.

I thought Conklin was fighting the puck a bit last night, but overall pretty solid. As others have said, hopefully this lights a fire under Ozzy to regain his form from last season. Hopefully the rest of the team will too.

Tampa now is paying two head coaches who no longer coach the team, and they're current head coach is a guy who was suspended by the league for two years and is still on probation. Way to go guys.

It definitely seems to have more to do with the scoreboard than what's happening on the ice. It's got to be frustrating as a player because it's so inconsistent.

they are really calling that hooking tight. as soon as the stick goes parallel to the ice, all you have to do is touch the guy and it's a penalty. i guess it's good, in hopes that players will eventually stop doing it completely, but it makes for some ugly games.

Wings fans seriously need to knock of the octopus thing at out of town early regular season games. It's getting old and makes it a lot less special.
