I wouldn't fault him for the goals, but Conklin's rebound control has not been sharp tonight. That one looked like it was in his glove, but somehow ended up loose on the ice in front of him to cover up.

More than that though he's playing solid. Makes the simple play, actually plays physical. He's become one of their best Dmen. He's on a pretty young, not very deep team playing tons of minutes and isn't really looking as inexperienced as he is out there.

Quincey still is looking really solid in LA. I still don't get how he couldn't crack this lineup. I guess he doesn't shot block or PK like Lilja?

Don't get me wrong, I think they're a little biased, but I didn't think it was terrible. At the start of the game they were on Conks and saying he looked rusty, but honestly I can't say I disagreed. He was giving up some juicy rebounds on what seemed relatively easy saves.

Yeah. I didn't think they were as bad as the Blue Jackets or Preds announcers. Aside from just playing to their market, I think part of it is also that these are the players the see night in and out, so local broadcasters know a lot more and have a lot more to say about their home team, so it comes off like bias.

Lilja has played well so far this season. Last night was the first classic Lilja move I've seen, when he tried a nice slow pass up the middle from next to his own net while the Wings were on the PK. Not surprisingly, the puck was stopped at the blueline by a Tampa player. When he keeps it simple, he's solid.

Other guys on his list besides Lidstrom: Tiger Woods, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Michael Phelps. This guy apparently is more interested in drama that happens outside of the game than the drama inside a game. Because all of those athletes have had some pretty historic and incredible performances. As for this quote: Does the guy actually watch hockey? That is exactly what you want in a hockey player. It's how the majority of them are! No matter how tenacious or nasty they play on the ice, most are talented, professional, and humble.

Honestly I think Lucic needs to lay off the body shots. There's a reason you don't see brawlers doing it. It's just not done.
