You guys are reacting based on the assumption this guy is just a negative wings fan. He's not. He's just a troll trying to bait people.
-
Ok. That's one vote for troll.
-
I saw you made the last post and just had to see what stupid ass thing you would say. You didn't disappoint. I can't tell if you're just a troll pretending to be a Wings fan, or the least fun person to be around on the planet.
-
So Raycroft > Osgood, right? Oh. wait. Look a couple colums over. That's based on 48 shots and 2 games. Do people even watch hockey games anymore? Or just make dumbass assumptions as they check stats for their fantasy league?
-
If we had Luongo, maybe he would've saved a couple more pucks. Of course, then you'd have to say goodbye to Hossa, and the possibility of re-signing both Franzen and Zetterberg
-
Yes. A very, very bad joke. The Wings are in first place in their division and are tied for second most points in the league in spite of playing very poor defensively. You had to know the goalie would be to blame eventually.

Um, I have a brain. And here's a newsflash, if you're watching it on t.v., you're watching it in two dimensions, not three. And the camera angle wasn't shooting straight on at crossbar height, which makes it difficult to tell exactly where things are in relation to each other. His stick was above the crossbar, when he started swinging for sure, when he made contact, it was pretty friggin close. The humans on the ice who see in more than two dimensions and are refs called it a goal. The humans on the ice who see in more than two dimensions and were Wings players started skating immediately to the locker room, including Ozzy. If it was clearly a high stick, you don't think he or anyone nearby would've complained? And I don't want to hear any b.s. about them wanting to get off the ice. Then you're basically saying the Wings were so uninterested in this game that they were willing to give up a point just so they could get to their hotels sooner. If that's the case, I'd gladly hand Anaheim a point.

Agreed. I wouldn't waste your time though. Reality goes out the window when it comes to Hasek. She's still bitter about all the crap Dom took for his poor start last year and is hanging around to whine about how Ozzy is getting different treatment. But I agree it's not nearly the same thing. For example last year when the Wings beat Anaheim in the shootout in October, Dom had a save percentage of .867. One minor difference is he faced 15 shots. For the games Hasek started, the Wings only gave up more than 30 shots once all season, when they gave up 32 to Ottawa and lost 3-2. With Ozzy it was very much the same. There were four regular season games he faced more than 30 shots. This season he's faced 30+ three times in seven games. The Wings have only given up fewer than 20 shots one game so far this season, with 19. But more than the stats just from watching the games you can see this has not been the same defensive team as last season. Their puck control is not there and there have been a lot of major defensive blunders. Last night was no different. Rafalski got schooled by Getzlaf on what led to the game winning goal in OT. No kidding. Which is why they brought in Huet a $5 million dollar goaltender to play alongside their $6 million dollar man. If Bulin was keeping them in so many games, I doubt Chicago would have over $11 mill tied up in goaltending right now.

Try watching some games instead of just checking the stats sheet. Ozzy's been fine. My only slight criticism is he's given up a few more rebounds than usual. This is not like last season where the team was great defensively and Dom was playing poorly. This whole team has been out of sync so far this season, except for offense.

The Wings played an incredibly undisciplined and sloppy game defensively. The only reason they were in it at the end is because of their unbelievable clutch offense. The refs did not steal this game. There is no conspiracy. Detroit was mostly a mess. The Wings may have a cup hangover, but so do a lot of the fans.

I'm sure it's coming. They're all still busy furiously typing their replies laden with profanity and nasty emoticons.
-
Agreed. So there's at least two of us.

whatever lets you sleep at night buddy. You even said it yourself. They would have to overturn the call. so they have to think they see something clearly enough to be worthy of overruling the official who was on the ice. Otherwise, they're gonna let it stand. It's the same thing.
-
Thank you! When everyone calms down, they seriously need to look at those replays again and check if they still think it was conclusively above the crossbar. Notice how fast all the Red wings got off the ice? If someone standing around the net thought it was clearly above the crossbar, wouldn't they have stuck around and complained? The bottom line is the Wings shouldn't have put themselves in a position for a call like that to decide the game. Too many penalties, too many defensive mistakes. The only reason the Wings aren't getting crushed right now is their offense is crazy good.
-
I guess we'll have to disagree. The call on the ice does matter in a video review, and to me that wasn't clearly a high stick. Not saying it wasn't. Just that it clearly wasn't. Not enough to overrule the on ice official.
-
Actually I thought it did. Much like the NFL, if the ref calls it a goal, that means they've got to see something on the replay worth overturning it. Even if it's not official, it's kind of common sense. They're not going to overturn a call on the ice unless they see something definitive. I didn't see anything definitive in that replay.
-
you guys all must have better eyes than me. It's only when the stick contacts the puck. And from the angles I saw, it was really freaking close. The camera wasn't straight on, so I couldn't tell if it was really above or not.
-
It was called a goal on the ice. that's most important because then the video has to overruled it. Unless the review officials had some magical angles to definitely tell it was over the crossbar, I didn't see anything clear enough to overturn it. It looked pretty f-ing close, but still. Either way, it's not like the Wings deserved 2 points the way they played tonight. Man did Raf get undressed by Getzlaf.
-
If the Red Wings can ever get their defensive game sorted out, they are going to be ******* Scary.
-
To me it's just two guys headed to the corner fighting for position. Kronwall lost.
-
Not because of Ozzy's performance in this game. He's been fine.
-
At first I thought Getzlaf slew footed him, but on the replay he just outmuscled and pushed him down fighting for position. And I can't really point to anything specific, but for me Corey Perry just exudes douchiness.
-
I think that's the heart of it. A team slacking off a little, combined with that it's easier to call a penalty on a team with a lead than the one that's already losing. But there's no conspiracy.
-
uhh... i'm not the one who seems upset here.
-
Kronwall sticking Niedermayer in the face was a marginal call?
