For the record, I don't think there's some great conspiracy against the Wings. I think the refs are generally bad both ways. But there's a big difference between having Lids off the ice for 2 minutes and having Rafalksi. There's a reason why those guys have the large numbers on the backs of their jerseys.

I hate how they mic the games at Joe Louis. If you listen carefully, you can actually hear some fans there, and some players on the ice... mostly though I just hear the ocean.

When they dont' even get the right player to send to the box, it's a pretty good indication that they didn't get a good look at what actually happened.

yup. They announced that early this season. Part of me wonders if it's an "encouraged" retirement by the NHL. probably wishful thinking on my part. They're not that smart.

Honestly I like it when he plays with a bit of an edge, which would take him out of the running for the Byng. And as I said in the other thread, I don't think he has shot at the selke. But I'd love for him to win the Conn Smythe.

I'm not sure what Buccigross meant by that exactly. I think the people in Detroit are the only ones not sleeping on Datsyuk's career year. In general he doesn't get enough attention around the league. As for Hart, Nick is the one on the team most deserving, and he probably won't even get mentioned for it. And now because I don't think Datsyuk will win the Hart, I'm an evil bastard and hate Datsyuk. right?

You really think he needs a better defensive coach? I know the Wings haven't been that great defensively lately, but I think that's due in great part to the injuries. Honestly I think he has this Red Wings lineup playing well above their level of talent defensively. I still don't get the Sammy on the PP point instead of Stuart, but other than that, all in all I think he's been great.

I think you're right on the money there. Ozzy was great today, but if the names on the back of the jersey were "Goalie 1" and "Goalie A" instead of Hasek and Osgood (and the baggage that comes with each), I'd say neither goalie has played exceptionally better than the other to clear and away deserve the starting playoff job. And as for the alleged Hasek bias people whine about, if people here are easier on Ozzy, it's only because after 13+ seasons they're finally running out of insults.
