Sammy's brutal on the point. But that doesn't mean we should've way overpaid for Fedorov. Stuart should be out there instead of Sammy.
-
Yeah. Honestly I think that one was more deserving of a penalty than the last time when he took out Gaborik.
-
wtf Hasek. That was a terrible decision. Waaaaay too far out to be doing that.
-
I think Downey is seriously one of the worst skaters I've ever seen.
-
Man, I didn't realize it was an own goal by Buffalo. I'll take it.
-
Nice work by Downey going to the front of the net and holding position there. Nothing really came of it, but I like anytime the D has to spend energy trying to clear our guys out of there.
-
I'm just saying what I see. I truly think the best chance on those PP's were by Stuart. Nice saves by Hasek.
-
wohooo! Miller finally coughed one up.
-
Sad when the best scoring chance on those PP's just came from Stuart on the wraparound. Miller's done a great job controlling his rebounds (the bastard).
-
I'm amazed Sammy even got that shot throught with the giant windup. With the exception of Samuelsson, the 2nd unit looks better than the first out there.
-
Homer should have his ass in Miller's face this whole 5 on 3. and as someone mentioned, why the hell isn't Stuart out there on the point?!?!? Nice job Sammy. @#$%@#$%
-
Come on Wings. If you're ever gonna break this slump, you've gotta capitalize on a 5 on 3. The first call was soft, but this one was legit. You can't take your hand off the stick and grab a guy anymore. wow. timeout Babs? Wanting to keep his 1st unit out there.
-
Definitely. Bad call by the refs. That was weak. Franzen just couldn't finish.
-
It's not our fault you don't understand.
-
That's too bad. I didn't realize they booed him. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I were a Sabres fan. I'd probably be a little bitter he left too, because their chances were obviously better with him in net. But I'd also be happy Dom finally won a Cup after getting so close and playing at a high level for so long.
-
I don't think it has to be an either or situation. They're two very different players who play different positions. The only thing they have in common really is they came into the league the same year because of the lockout.

Youngest player in NHL history to record 100 points in a season Youngest player in NHL history to record 200 career points (19 years and 207 days) Youngest player in NHL history to have 2 consecutive 100 point seasons. Youngest player to be voted to the NHL All-Star Game Youngest player in NHL history to win the Art Ross Trophy Youngest player in NHL history to win the Lester B. Pearson Award Youngest player in NHL history to be named to the First All-Star Team Awards * Art Ross Trophy - 2007 * Lester B. Pearson Award - 2007 * Hart Memorial Trophy - 2007 102 points his rookie season as an 18 year old. 120 points his 2nd season. 63 points in 46 games played this season. He is not overrated. He's a 20 year old Canadian kid who's put up those kind of great numbers already, and he's only gonna get better. Is it really that hard to understand why the league markets the hell out of him? Don't get me wrong, I get sick of hearing about every time he touches the puck. I'm guessing he does too. It's no surprise there's a backlash with all the publicity he gets, but that doesn't negate his accomplishments.
-
I mostly agree. Though I think there is bad reffing. It's just that the bad calls tend to even out. But for the puck to fly off the ice, disappear for several seconds, then pop back onto the rink without any of the officials allegedly seeing it, is particularly pathetic. Four sets of eyes, at least a couple of which should be following the puck. None of them saw it? It's particularly painful because the Wings are struggling right now, which is why losing on such a major blown call hurts more than usual.
-
Yeah, from what I saw last night, Hasek looked good for his first game back. Maybe a giving up a few more rebounds than usual, but that's about it. And for the past several weeks, no matter who is in net is often getting hung out to dry. How many chances did the Sharks get on that second goal last night? It was ridiculous. Maybe Ozzy and Dom haven't been quite as sharp as they were earlier, but it's honestly hard for me to tell because our defense has been so poor. They have to play a totally different type of game than they did earlier this season.
-
Actually, if you check out the replays, Zetterberg missed a wide open net because his shot deflected off the shaft of the defenseman's stick. it was a one in a million fluke block. And I think it was Holmstrom's where Nabokov made a huge save. It's not like they just whiffed at it. Tough, tough way for a struggling team to lose. There's gonna be some missed calls, but that was a joke. This team doesn't need any more problems to overcome than they already have. The Wings are still scrambling in their own end.
-
Hopefully having spent a season with a hapless organization like the Kings will also help bring him around.
-
Why screw up perfectly good outrage with the facts?! Seriously though, it makes me wonder how much luck Holland will have signing Stuart this summer if he's already passed once.
-
*waiting for the race war* Honestly I don't care where there from, but there's really no denying that if you have a North American hockey player who is 6'3" and 225 lbs, and you have a European player who is 6'3" and 225 lbs, more often than not the North American kid plays a more physical game. It's just how they grow up playing hockey.

and ridiculously high housing costs, terrible traffic jams, Ahnold as governator, and worst of all, the most successful hockey team in the state is the Ducks.
