Ahh yes, so even when Lang scores the clutch goal, it's still his fault he had to. And more to the point of the topic, there's now way Lang is coming back here. I'm not surprised teams would be interested in a big center who will be good for probably 20 goals and 50 points, and tends to score big goals in the playoffs. But I can't believe someone would want to pay $4 mill for him next season.

You can't seriously be talking about last nights game if you think the Wings were dominating. and if you pulled a goalie because he had a problem against a team in a game 7 years ago, that would make you the dumbest coach on the planet. Edit: I seriously think some people don't see the game, but then check the stats and chime in to rip on players.

I don't get how him not wanting to play for Detroit makes it a "highest bidder" attitude. Is there evidence of that? There's other factors like length of contract offered, potential teammates, coaching staff, likelihood of winning the Cup. Though honestly Detroit is a pretty good option on all those except the first one. I'm thinking this may be another Bertuzzi situation where he's looking for a longer term than Holland would likely offer given Forsberg's health question mark. If his reason really is the rivalry with Detroit, it's a stupid one. Though if a Wings player gave the same reason not to play for the Avs, they'd be hailed as a hero here.

when I'm not able to watch a game and am reading the GDT, I always hear people complaining about the refs and think, come on now, it can't be that bad. but those first two calls last night were terrible. Holding the stick that really wasn't. Then diving??

I guess we'll have to disagree. the only one I had a problem with was the first one, where he lost sight of the puck. It'd be nice if he came up with huge saves on some of those other goals, but I can't fault him for him either. Like when Kopitar is 6 feet away and beats none other than Nick Lidstrom to get off a quality shot. Totally uncharacteristic game by the Wings tonight. They gave up the goals in the third, but they were giving up chances all night. It just caught up with them in the last period.

No kidding. For whatever reason, the puck possession wasn't working tonight, and the Kings got a lot of quality scoring chances.

that's what I said! Obviously these refs have never seen Homer skate before. He falls down about as much as I do skating.

Yeah, I don't know these two at all really. But they called diving on Homer, which I didn't really see. But it was completly away from the play, so even if it was a dive it seems like something they'd let go. Then I think Franzen got called for holding the stick, when he didn't even grab it. He had his free hand off his stick protecting the puck as he skated in the corner and hit the other guys stick, but didn't grab it at all. The ref behind the play called it.

Flukey goals (except for Z's wraparound) and some early weak calls against the Wings. I know people generally think the refs are screwing Detroit over, but these were some really iffy calls.
