Are we talking about Chris Gratton here or am I missing something? How is he going to help our 2nd line offensive problems? I thought the guy was pretty much a grinding forward these days. He has 9 goals in 50 games, which means he has about the same offensive output as Draper and Franzen. EDIT: I realize Tampa Bay is awful this year. I think of Gratton as a fairly physical guy who can score a few. Still, if the Wings are going to pay the price to bring someone in for the 2nd line, we need someone with a little more of a scoring touch.

As I said in the thread in the water cooler. Woooohooo!!! Suck on that you @sshole cheater Belichick!

I'm not saying Blake will answer all our problems, but I don't see how Guerin to the Sharks last year somehow shows that Blake won't work out in Detroit this season. Though I do agree with you about Feds.

I was thinking about that just the other day. Just how many players on the who Wings played physical/nasty and would and did drop the gloves. It's why it makes me laugh when people complain about the Ducks. Probert, Kocur, Gallant, Snepsts, Norwood, Bridgman, and on and on...

Mac coming back to the wings is still a total longshot. A few months ago he wasn't even playing hockey at any level. It's going to take a bit more before he can make a meaningful contribution in the NHL again. Plus his health is still an unknown. He'd have to tear it up on the Griffins to even be considered taking a spot in the Wings lineup. I'd love for Mac to come back, but it's almost certainly not going to happen this year, and should in no way factor into trade deadline moves. As for Fedorov, I'm a fan, but he's not who we need right now. Especially as others have mentioned, he's sidelined indefinitey with a concussion.

I've thought we need someone to help that second line scoring. They all have their moments, but no one has stepped up consistently. The problem is now with Kronwall going down, it makes it pretty clear we need another D-man too. Picking up a physical defenseman AND some 2nd line help would take some serious wheeling and dealing on Holland's part.

Tootoo Ruutu Perry Pronger and Downie is showing all the signs of making the list.

TSN.ca has a great replay angle looking straight down on the net. I don't see any punch to Hasek's head. Still, I agree that usually those calls are going against us when Homer does it, but our opponents can usually push Dom into the net with no call.
-
honestly I don't think they're that far off. The Avs were depleted with injuries and basically playing ultra conservative the whole game hoping they'd catch a break. Budaj definitely kept it as close as it was. They're wrong about the Dats Z and Homer comment though. And watching the replay in the highlights, the refs did blow that call. Lebda clearly pushed the Avs player into the net, and he mostly hit the side of the net and made a fair effort not to hit Hasek. Yes Hasek was interfered with, but it was a result of Lebda's push. Ahh well, it couldn't have happened to a nicer team.

Franzen: Faceoff GOOD!! The Wings dominated across the board tonight on faceoffs. Z, Drapes, Franzen. And why doesn't NHL.com have decent boxscores?
-
We've definitely had a few bad calls on homer, especially early in the season. It's nice to see one go our way for a change.

The ref immediately waived it off, as there was a Colorado player in the crease. But the replay showed he was pushed in by Lebda, and didn't really make contact with Dom (though I'm sure his presence did affect the save). Basically Lebda pushed a guy into the side of the net and into the crease, right by where Dom was as he tried to make the save. It totally looked like interference to me at first. But since it was Lebda who pushed him there, it shouldn't have been waved off. EDIT: for better explanation (hopefully)

Nice! Boring ass game to me. Nice that the Wings stayed with it and came out with the win (even if it took a little help from the refs ) The hardest part of Dom's night had to be staying awake!
-
who was that who called it?!
-
it's even sweeter because it should really be a 1-1 game right now.
-
Hank! thank f-ing god.
-
11 sog by Colorado and virtually no quality scoring chances. good god.

Yeah, watching him play is frustrating. It's all the little things he does wrong. I haven't seem him make a major blunder tonight, but he's made a pass across his blueline that handcuffed his defensive partner as an Av was closing in on him, a turnover behind the net on what should have been an easy play, shooting the puck into a sea of legs in the offensive zone, when he should've made sure he kept it deep because he was the last man back...
-
I figured that. That's just a word I don't utter in the GDT when the score is 0 on our end too.
-
That was a great pass from Z to Dats, but still, nada. I don't know how Dom is staying awake back there. Maybe he has coffee in his water bottle.
-
wow. actually that probably shouldn't have gone our way because Lebda pushed him.
-
nice to see an interference go our way for once.

Nice forearm to Z's face by that d-bag Avs player.
