He's got 3 goals and 3 assists and is +5 playing eight minutes a game. He may not be lighting up the scoreboard, but he's hardly sucking.

Wow. that sucks for Joe. It seems like the kind of injury that could be the beginning of the end for him.

Terrible play by Raf. I think he was looking right through that Avs defenseman. After the goal you could see him looking up at the screen watching the replay, shaking his head.

It's a goal you want your goalie to stop, to bail your team out after a mistake. But I wouldn't call it weak. The guy was in all alone. I will agree about feeling more comfortable with Ozzy between the pipes though.

Yeah, it was hard to tell from the replays, but I never saw anything that looked like it hit Cleary. I thought it was off Budaj, then the Av defenseman's skate. Either way, that goal was all due to the hard work from Flip. Protecting the puck and refusing to get knocked off it. It's great to see.

Rafalski with the pass across the blueline in his own end. He knows better than that.

go Flipper! And I can't believe I'm saying this, but good work by Sammy. He can be hard to move off the puck when he wants to be, but rarely knows what to do with it to make a play. Thankfully, Kronwall did.

It was off the Av defenseman's skate. Flip will get the goal. Nice strong work carrying the puck.

I was just relieved to see he's actually over 6 feet tall and 180 lbs.

For what it's worth this "dirty" hit isn't even on the radar over at hfboards, where typically any questionable hit is posted seconds after it happens with someone demanding a suspension.

I don't know that it was totally clean. It was from behind, but Jackman did rotate towards the boards right before the hit. The main thing is that it didn't look like Franzen even hit him that hard. I was surprised by the result. And I didn't see an elbow. But I only watched the highlight a few times and got tired of trying to find the relevant portion on the ESPN highlights.

Agreed. Oh, and lang scored two third-period goals as the hawks beat the Preds and won their fourth straight game. Say what you will about the guy, but an awful lot of the goals he scores are clutch.

I think it's because we've seen the Wings dominate in the regular season so many times before, yet come up short in the postseason. I love that they're on a roll now, and that Huds and Flip are stepping up, but I still think this team could use more nastiness on D, and a seasoned scorer on that second line. That or hopefully someone on that 2nd line will establish themselves as a constistent postseason threat on the 2nd line.

I thought that was your handiwork. It's too bad really. I like that our division is getting competitive again. It'd be cool to have some members from Chicago and St. Louis to have friendly rivalries with.

Yeah. There was one guy who was a blues fan that used to post here. Can't think of his name, but he was a knowledgable hockey fan. Haven't really seen one since though.
