Agreed. Honestly, I just wish they didn't sign Maltby for those years, even though it's for cheap. We do need to start getting younger bodies in the lineup and getting good ice time. Draper earns his position a helluva lot more than Maltby at this point.

That's what I'm thinking. Which is a scam. There's no reason he can't play, and he's currently under contract to Anaheim. It's not like we're dealing with some rogue player who just didn't report to camp. Anaheim should be on the hook for his full salary instead of getting a nice break for Scott's vacation.

There's a big difference here though. Selanne is a UFA. He's not under any obligation to anybody. Niedermayer on the other hand is still under contract with Anaheim. You'd think if a team pays you $6.75 million for a few years, you could at least have the courtesy to make up your friggin mind already.

Should Pavel and Hank stay on the same line?
haroldsnepsts replied to datsyuk_13_fan's topic in General
yes. I'm not very smart. obviously that should be Pavel and Zetterberg. EDIT: and as much fun as they are to watch on the same line, I think the fact that they're playing together this early in the season is a bad sign for the Wings offense. -
Should Pavel and Hank stay on the same line?

Are we really talking about what pace guys are on after three whole games? As for Pavel and Z, it's great to watch them together, but through the course of the season the Wings need to figure out some other line combos so we actually have two scoring lines come playoff time. Otherwise it'll be like this last playoffs. Dats and Z will be good at home, but prone to getting shut down on the road as the opponent matches lines against them. We need another legitimate scoring threat, whether that's them separated, or by bringing in a sniper. EDITED: to say "Pavel and Z" instead of referring to Datsyuk both times. -
People here still hate Wings players for one bad play that "may have cost them the Cup" 15 years ago. It never ceases to amaze me how the loss of a seven game series gets pinned on one moment from one player. Why isn't it all Datsyuk's fault for taking that bad interference penalty that led to the tying goal? Lilja's bad play was hardly of the Billy Buckner variety. EDIT: it may not look like it from the way the other posts got quoted, but I'm agreeing with you NFM.

Bill Wirtz memorial/moment of silence booed by Blackhawk fans
haroldsnepsts replied to Wings_Fan_In_Exile's topic in General
of course they have a right to boo. But that doesn't make them any less a-holes for doing it. The man's dead and they boo because he was bad at running a hockey team. -
hahaha did anyone watch the Vs. game of Toronto and Carolina?

It never ceases to amaze me how someone with so much experience can continue to make such horrific decisions at times. A backhand pass two feet in front of your own net? Always a good idea. -

Wirtz was a terrible owner. But booing his memorial? That's truly terrible. -
Could you take your little tiffs to PM's there princess? You're cluttering up the threads. And if you keep dragging discussions off topic by trolling, I'm guessing the mods will eventually get fed up and ban you. And that would be such a loss to LGW.com, it would pain me so if that happened.

I thought I saw him get hurt a bit last night. Right as they were going to commercial, Hasek stayed down and kept flexing his right leg in and out. Then when they got back from commercial he was fine and the announcers never mentioned it. I didn't seem him take a puck to the knee, but I'd rather it be that. I was afraid he had tweaked his groin, because he kept sliding his leg out and back in, flexing the groin, instead of straightening it out like you would to flex your knee.
-
I didn't think it counted in those stats either. They don't track them because the shootout is completely created event that has little to do with actual hockey. It would be unfair to count a shootout goal in either a player or goalies real game stats.

If he keeps playing like tonight, they'll come.
-
holy crap Z. amazing play. And drapes with the goal! EDIT: got confused with Mickey yelling. lol
-
That may be why he's so used to passing. He's got to realize that he's got one of the better shots on the team, and the Wings don't really have a sniper anymore
-
holy crap Z has been pulling some crazy sh*t tonight. He just can't quite finish...
-
Someone needs to write "SHOOT THE PUCK" in Russian on the shaft of Datsyuk's stick.
-
crappity crap. almost Z.
-
Did Lilja blow a tire or did he get taken down?? Uh, did Dom look like he was hurt at the end of that play? he stayed down and kept moving his leg around...
-
Actually Kronner's not a very big guy. Maybe 6 ft and 185. He hits pretty hard for someone that size.
-
I think he's got on the collar. It looks kind of like a turtleneck. A lot of goalies don't seem to like the big plastic shield that hangs down off the mask.
-
Roloson trying to draw another penalty. He didn't realize Homer was on the bench.

This must be your first time to the forums. Welcome.

Yeah, Dats had the jets going. It would've been nice if Draper hit him with the pass..

Holy christmas was that a great move by Z Great. Now Dats shoots and he nails Z.
