    Rangers/Sabres GDT Game 3

"refs" was shorter to type than "off ice officials who overruled the goal." Of course having that be a goal may have changed the events of the game (I've seen Back to the Future. I get it), but it's not a stretch to think that they would've had a much better chance closing the game out in regulation had that goal counted. It was ruled a goal on the ice, and that video replay was hardly conclusive enough proof to overturn the on ice officials. The bottom line is the Rangers got robbed of that goal.

The OFFICIAL I HATE RON WILSON THREAD...

I dunno. you're gonna have to suggest some things, cuz I can't really think of anything we wouldn't.

SI.com's Allan Muir - Wings deserved to win game 2

Absolutely. What killed us last year is not so much the number of goals Legace gave up, but what huge momentum killers they were for us. So many seemed to be at the worst possible time. Dom has come up huge in both the wins and the losses.

SI.com's Allan Muir - Wings deserved to win game 2

actually I think it doesn't have to be one of those two absolutes. Dom is a great goalie and has come up huge in the playoffs. He also wanders from the net and it has occasionally cost the Wings. Those two beliefs are not mutually exclusive. Exactly.

The 25 other turnovers didn't lead to such an easy goal for the Sharks. One where the goaltender isn't in net. God forbid someone say anything remotely negative about Dom. He has made this exact same mistake twice. More than twice this season, easily. He's a great goalie, but he's not good at playing the puck. That's fine. The simple solution is not to play the puck in traffic like that. He's been great in the postseason, but there is such a simple fix for such a costly mistake.

This is not to take away from the many HUGE saves he's made during both series, but Dom needs to be much more conservative playing the puck. It's a relatively simple thing to correct. The Sharks are too good to be spotting them a goal like that.

    Rangers/Sabres GDT Game 3

justice! The refs still owe the Rangers two periods of unnecessary hockey.

    Rangers/Sabres GDT Game 3

man these guys are gassed. And they ran out of commercials for the game, so no t.v. timeouts to give them a long breather.

    Rangers/Sabres GDT Game 3

Wow. 2nd OT. And this game should've been over with the Rangers winning 2-1. I'm not even really a Rangers fan and I'm a little pissed.

    Rangers/Sabres GDT Game 3

wow did they ever get screwed out of that goal. It was ruled a goal on the ice. There's no way that was conclusive enough to overturn it...

Positive Hasek Fact Going Into SJ

Hasek is definitely THE X factor in this series. Any advantage San Jose may have on paper, they still gotta get the puck past Dom to win. Kenny took a huge gamble this offseason and it's paying off.

    Datsyuk

I'm definitely relieved that he's playing well. I'll admit that I had my doubts. It's looking like I was wrong that re-signing him before the playoffs was a mistake. I don't want to start a flame war or derail the thread, because this really isn't a knock on Dats. I still think, however that 7 years is too long for just about any player in this league under the cap.

    Wings meet fork

seriously. grow up. If you can't handle the ups and downs of playoff hockey, then don't watch. some people here never cease to amaze me. The Red Wings are either the worst team to ever set foot on the ice, or Lidstrom should be deciding who he first hands the Cup off to. There's no in between.

    Mandatory Visors?

helmets don't affect your on ice vision the way a visor does. they could make Crosby wear a visor, but then what if he's only 75% as good? Not to mention from a marketing standpoint, it's better to be able to see the star players faces.

    stupid fans

very true. I know this has been posted before, but it never gets old to me.

    Mandatory Visors?

The NHLPA may be why, but it's because the players don't want them made mandatory. It's not like the NHLPA is fighting this when all the players are in favor. The difference between requiring helmets, and as someone joked, cups, is that a visor affects your vision. Yes, it may lower the chances of getting hit in the eye with a puck or stick, but some players may feel that acceptable risk is worth not having anything obstructing your vision. And as someone else also mentioned, greater player responsibility with the stick would also help.

Holmstrom: Out until at least Game 4

Man that's bad news. The Wings are so banged up from that Calgary series. A couple broken hands, some bad backs, an eye injury, a concussion and ankle injury. That's a bad way to start a series against a good team like SJ.

    Again With The Trap...

Bacock should not lose his job based on the Wings inability to overcome a trap by San Jose once their up two goals. Also, Lebda and Kronwall are two key losses in terms of the Wing's beating the trap. Lebda did so regularly with his speed, and Kronwall with speed and passing. The Wings had what looked like set plays from behind their own net involving those two that beat the trap. It can't eliminate the trap, but the new rules should make it easier to beat. You can no longer hold up players at the blueline as they try and go in and dig out the puck once it's been dumped in. And as much as I don't like the rule, limiting the goalie's ability to play the puck in the corners also helps. Before with a team like New Jersey, they could interfere with players at their own blueline while Brodeur went and flipped the puck to his defenseman.

    GAME 1 (4/26) - Sharks @ Red Wings (LIVE)

c'mon, last series he played well and got a ton of shots through to the net. He just needs to adjust and pick his spots

    GAME 1 (4/26) - Sharks @ Red Wings (LIVE)

The fact that you: bait people in threads to try and start flame wars drag threads off topic by bringing up for the thousandth time the average height and weight of the Sharks. contribute nothing of value to any hockey discussion. cry about how statistics are a bannable offense, yet you haven't been banned, and if you'd looked around for a day before shooting your mouth off, you'd see people bring up stats regularly. and before you cry about us wanting to boot you because you're a sharks fan, you'll notice there's several fans of other teams who are posting here. They're just not idiots.

    Pre-GAME 1 (4/26): Sharks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

Nick's won it four times and I think Cheli's won it three, so that's combined 7 Norris trophies on the Detroit blueline.

2007 Photoshop War: Red Wings vs Sharks

fear not little one, you and your broken record posts are still by far the most annoying thing here. You've managed to litter nearly every thread here with your trolling. Yes, they are hockey related, but when you post in ever thread saying sharks in 5 or get all hot and bothered by how big the San Jose players are, it's still trolling. I quoted you this in another thread you were derailing, maybe you missed it. Forum guidelines excerpt: DON'T incite flame wars by purposely baiting ("trolling") other members into an online flame war. Members caught doing so will be disciplined appropriately.
