    Pre-GAME 1 (4/26): Sharks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

This is getting to be really funny. you seriously have said that in nearly every thread you post in. San Jose is big. We got it. Why not just make it your signature and save us all some time? Do you not know anything else about San Jose that you can rave about? When the Wings were getting ready to play the Flyers in '97, everyone was talking about how big the Flyers were. How the Wings defense wouldn't be able to handle such size. Seems to me that worked out okay. I'm not saying the exact same thing will happen here. These are two different teams we're talking about here. But the point is still valid is that size can and has been beaten. It's why you actually gotta play the games.

    Zetterberg with the flu

I know. Which is what makes all the attempted subterfuge even funnier.

It definitely is. It makes me miss Vladdy.

That's because you were trolling in multiple threads. Have something halfway civil and intelligent to say, and people here will respond in kind.

    Zetterberg with the flu

I thought he was resting because he was so old? clearly it's gotta be his back. They must be avoiding the "upper body injury" because everyone could easily figure out exactly what it is.

2007 Photoshop War: Red Wings vs Sharks

Really? Then why have only two other teams won more than 10 cups over that same time period? One of those teams being Toronto, who hasn't won it in 40 years. quite a dry spell. the Wings themselves had a long dry spell up until '97. No team has won it more than twice in a row since the Islanders in 1980-83. There hasn't been a real dynasty since Edmonton. And 5 different teams won the Cup in the past 5 years. good luck racking up those 10 Cup wins.

That was a great hip check by McLaren. Lebda needs to study that tape a bit and see how it's done right.

Zetterberg has not skated since Calgary

I was wondering how a thread about Zetterberg not skating had gotten so far off topic. Then surprise surprise, the trail led all the way back to your posts. How about keeping your trolling to one of the threads that actually talk about San Jose players? From the Forum Guidelines, in case you haven't had a chance to read them:

I did. At the ripe old age of 26, it's normal to be skipping practices? by that logic, Cheli must not have been to a practice in 5 years. Obviously Zetterberg is still hampered by an injury, most likely resting his back.

    Here comes the bluster..

Unfortunately in the down time between games, people here get bored and start picking at scabs. Reading through any interview they can find, any sound bite, finding any little nugget to be outraged about. Of course the Sharks are confident they can win. Just like the Wings better be. Who the hell would go into a series saying in the press "they seem like a great team. I hope we don't lose!"

But didn't you hear, Hasek is a shadow of his former self? Hmm, at 42 he still puts off one helluva shadow.

    No more McGeough!

Nice. He will not be missed. I'm still surprised that Fraser didn't even make it to the playoffs. Maybe he lets too much stuff go?

Sharks fans want to play Wings

why do people go searching for stuff to get upset about?? let em think the Wings are soft. that Dom is washed up. Or whatever other crap is out there.

Best thing about round 2, playing an AMERICAN team.

There's calls that are gonna hurt more than others, but overall I thought it was pretty even. And I don't buy at all that it had anything to do with the Flames being a canadian team.

    Dallas ice = quagmire

At least they got rid of those shoulder-breaking boards they used to have there.

exactly. If everyone is pissed at the ref, at least you know they're calling it both ways.

If you go to any fan forum of the remaining teams or to hfboards.com, pretty much every team thinks they're getting screwed by the refs. Which means they may be blowing some calls, but overall they're calling things equally.

    Second Round

Dom didn't get as much hype because the Wings were so much more dominant than Calgary. Don't get me wrong, he made HUGE saves, but that's still gonna be overshadowed by a goalie who is getting shelled and pretty much single-handedly keeping his team in the series. Kipper was awesome. But I heard several announcers mention Dom's key saves. It's hard getting shelled like Kiprusoff was, but it's also extremely hard not to see the puck for ten minutes, then have to make a huge save like Dom did. As for Dom being greater than Kipper, honestly I don't know that it's that clear anymore. Dom is great, but so is Kipper. It's not hype. He's the real deal. As for Dom vs. Turco, it's Hasek all the way. I don't think anyone has really done that. At least not anyone who saw the games.

Lets give credit to players that had a great series

True dat. I never would've expected Lilja to be playing the way he has. Most improved for sure.

    Post-GAME 6: 4/21 Red Wings 2, Flames 1 (2OT)

Igoonla has shown he can strap the team on his back at times, which is great for a captain. but then like in Game 5, he also shows terrible judgement when the going gets tough. A team is never gonna win the STanley Cup because of their captain complaining about the other team and gooning it up. Igoonla needed to be more focused on what his team needed to do to win and inspiring them to play that way.
  23. haroldsnepsts

    Hasek...

I don't think you could overhype Kippers performance in this series. He's the only reason Calgary had a chance. this wasn't like years past where the Wings were peppering goalies with low percentage perimeter shots. They were getting tons of quality chances. Dom wasn't nearly as busy, but he made HUGE saves that kept the Wings in the game. Game 5 he stopped a two on one and a breakaway in the first period. HAd either of those scored, it could've gone a whole different way.

    First Round MVP

I would disagree with all three there in the bottom, but as for Lids, are you on crack?? He had one bad game, but still managed to get 2 goals and 6 assists in the series while containing Igoonla. Lids is my vote for the series MVP. You can fixate on his one off game, or look at all the things he did right this series. Other great players: Cleary, Franzen, and Lilja. Yes Lilja. He has really stepped up his game and is playing solid hockey when the Wings needed it. And Dom didn't have to stand on his head like Kipper, but he made several giant saves that kept the Wings in the games and gave them a chance to win. for Calgary, no one touches Kipper. He's the only reason it was even a series.

I know what you're saying, but after yesterday, I gotta admit, it was extra sweet to disappoint all those fans at home.
