He scored because he didn't want to have to play another game. THAT's how lazy he is.

Kipper was definitely the number one star for the Flames every game. Without him this series would've been a total embarrassment for Calgary. And I'm not talking about the cheapshots. It's rare you see a goalie play out of his mind and still lose games by three and four goals.
-
Way to go boys! Now lets move on to a hockey team that plays like men.
-
I second that. And holy crap you guys have a great goaltender.
-
wooohooo! my nerves couldn't handle following the game in OT, so it was pretty f-ing great to check back in and see we won! Go Mule!

I haven't been able to watch the game. what happened to homer??

Per TSN: McLennan suspended 5 games, Lebda out for Game 6
haroldsnepsts replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
honestly I wasn't suggesting that they intentionally missed it. I'm seriously baffled how they did. They see a hit they're calling a penalty on, two players go down in a heap, but neither ref sees the punch? The biggest call in favor of the flames was the interference on Maltby. He was checked into Kipper. That cost us a goal and put the Wings shorthanded. It was made up for somewhat by the penalty shot. That trip on Cleary met the conditions for a penalty shot, but I was surprised any ref had the balls to call it in the playoffs. -

How could they have seen the clip but not see the punch that happened immediately after it? that's what I don't get. Did they get distracted by something shiny right after the hit? -
wow, trolling in this thread too? Calgary will never win a Cup with Iginla as the captain. A very talented player who has no idea how to rally his team when they really need it. As I said, here's to the Wings closing the series out tonight so we can stop wasting our breath talking about the Flames.

no kidding. the flames have done nothing but cry about us running their goaltender. In desperation they even used a two second clip of draper to claim he was headhunting. their team and their fans are acting like a bunch of whiny b*tches. Learn to lose like men. -

why not try to add something to the conversation from a Flames fan's perspective, instead of just being a troll (and not a very clever one at that). keep it up and I'm pretty sure your stay here will be a short one. -

Honestly I'm surprised the fines to Playfair and the Flames were that large. They're appropriate in my opinion, but I assumed the NHL would let them off. Otherwise seems about right. Igoonla is a clown, but didn't really cross the line enough to warrant a suspension. The only beef I have is with Langkow getting nothing for the suckerpunch and choking of Lebda. -
I dont' think it was at all intentional, but actually that screen grab shows why the hit was dangerous and probably deserved a penalty. It wasn't knee on knee, but look at Langkow's left knee and how it's bent. Whether it was lebda's hip that hit or not, it was a little low. I think the penalty was justified. The cheapshot afterward, however, was not.

TSN reporting Lebda has suffered concussion

what's even creepier than the cheapshot punch is the strangle move he puts on Lebda before he rolls over and plays hurt. After watching the video of Igirla's penalties, the Flames fans are right, Kipper is getting run. Igoonla slams into Kipper after he slashes Schneider. -
Pre-GAME 6: (4/22) Red Wings @ Flames - 9 PM ET

Here's to the Wings closing out the series so we can stop wasting our breath talking about these idiots. Finish them. Then we can focus on a real hockey team. -

saying he's one of the cleanest players on the flames team is like saying "he's the best behaved of all the prisoners." And uh, Lebda didn't suffer from concussions before he got cheapshotted in the face. Also check the replay, I don't think anyone with functioning eyeballs has called Lebda's hit knee on knee. that would require his knee actually making contact with Langkow's knee, which it didn't. -
still grasping at straws, eh? At best, Dom thought about it, and just put his stick out towards Igirla. It wasn't even a swing. So yeah, you're right he's half a swing away from being as being as bad as Noodles. Just like Igirla was half a swing away from being as bad as Bertuzzi when he chased Schneider 100 feet to butt end him and crosscheck him. Except of course that Bertuzzi thought he was getting retribution, misguided as he was. Schneider didn't do anything to to Igirla or his teammates, other than beat them on the scoreboard.

ahh the desperate act of trying to dig up dirt on our goaltender because you have nothing to defend your backup goalie's cheapshot.
-
not true! And on an unrelated note, do you take paypal?
-
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Seriously, every time I watched the NBC replay, it looked like the puck was well past Zyuzin before his stick was at a level that would've deflected it, plus the puck didn't seem to change direction. The only change of direction I saw was when it went past Hudler.
-
Did you not see the flames player behind Maltby checking him directly towards the crossbar? Obviously contact was made, but running the keeper is when you drive to the net and run into the goalie on your own. Maltby wouldn't have hit Kipper without getting hit into him. And it's not just a homer reaction, all the NBC announcers thought it was a bad call and the goal should've stood.

I absolutely disagree that the Lebda hit was anything near vicious, but Jiggy_12 has proven himself a pretty reasonable member around here, especially considering the hostile territory he's in.
