TSN reporting Lebda has suffered concussion

It was a low hit. Which is why he was called for a penalty. Let's see based on this game alone: Langkow cheapshots Lebda to the face. McLennan is in for less than thirty seconds before racking up a 2 minute minor, a 5 minute major, and a game misconduct. And where to start with Igoonla. There's the elbow to the head of Dom, trying to pick a fight with known toughguys like Lidstrom and Zetterberg, and then the grand finale of chasing Schneider, another major toughguy, down the rink so he can butt-end him and crosscheck him from behind. If they weren't dirty players before, they are now. I can only assume they had instructions from their coach, especially McLennan, to do what they did. Which is why he should be fined. At the very least, he lost control of his players. And Iginla, who I used to be a major fan of, has got to be one of the worst captains in the league. When will he learn that there are other ways to lead your team besides gooning it up at the end of a losing game.

Well, then if that's how the official scoring ends up, he got a goal he didn't deserve. He didn't make contact with the puck.

please. Lebda tried to throw a hip check and didn't throw a very good one. He was not trying to take out his knees. If you've seen any Red Wings games at all, you'd know he's the farthest thing from a dirty player.

? That link was to play by play. I saw several replays. it clearly redirected off Hoodlum's leg and it didn't look like the flames player made any contact. EDIT. Unless you're referring to the Flames player right by Hudler. If memory serves he had his stick down by Hudler's leg. I guess conceivably it touched his stick blade, but it wasn't touched by the Flames player in front of the net.

    No respect

spear iginla in the face? do you even know what spearing is? At most it looked like Dom thought about taking a swing and thought better of it. So if anything he got a penalty for holding his stick toward Igoonla in a threatening manner. A homer is what you are as a calgary fan.

The shot was redirected out front off Hudler's leg, and the Calgary player in front of the net whiffed on it. It was a good goal.

I don't know that the hipcheck was 100% clean. It was a bit low. You get that close to a guys knees, intentional or not, and it probably deserves a penalty. What it doesn't deserve is that guy grabbing you by the back of the jersey and cheapshotting you to the face.

Exactly. Coach pulls his starting goalie and puts in the backup. As soon as a Wings player gets within striking distance less than 20 seconds later, the backup starts slashing away. Then after a penalty is called, the backup slashes the player again in a clear cheapshot. Gee, do you think the coach maybe sent him out there with some very specific directions?

as much as i'd love it to happen, there's no way they'd suspend Igoonla. They seriously should fine the coach though. That was slapshot like tactics out there.

why? so you can get pissed about them too? who cares what they think. I'm sure a lot of them are justifying what went down, like a lot of people would here were the situations were reversed.

They need to fine the coach for that. Your backup goalie comes in and immediately slashes a guy in front of the net. Then Iginla's B.S., then still trying to pick a fight with draper?! the coach was involved, or at the very least has to control his team.

It was a hit near the knees by lebda. questionable call maybe, but definitely not the worst of the day.

that's probably a good call on lebda. it was a little low, near the knees. but how can you see that and not see the cheapshot? nice to hear the bronx cheer from the fans. bad to see so many leaving.

I don't usually complain about refs, but this has been ridiculous. they've missed a couple biggies, and the waved off goal. terrible terrible job.

it was a poorly thrown hip check by lebda. clipping? not sure. cheapshot by calgary? definitely.

I'd have to see it again, but it didn't seem like it was right at the buzzer. Time was running out for sure. either way, not that bad compared to the other crap they've pulled (ex: Iginla skating over and jawing with the Wings while Cleary was a crumpled heap on the ice)
