what credibility? :rotflmao: Please don't be offended that I cannot possibly take your word for that "fact."

He should've knocked down the defensemen and goalie to get the strike.

The Avs rivalry died because the new schedule was so effective in creating new rivalries with teams by playing them every freaking day of the season, there just wasn't any time left to hate Colorado. There's that intense rivalry with the Blue Jackets, and the Blues, and the blackhawks... Okay, my non-smartass answer is that a big part of the rivalry was that both teams were on a collision course in the playoffs for several years in a row. If Colorado wanted to get to the Cup, they had to go through Detroit. If Detroit wanted the Cup, they had to go through Colorado. Obviously there was the Turtle incident. But I think what really kept the rivalry going was playing each other under intense playoff conditions several times in a row. That's the real way rivalries are born. You can't just play a team a million times and expect that to develop. they have to be standing between you and the Stanley Cup.
-
you're not, in this case anyway. Ozzy has another year left on his contract.
-
They're UFAs and would almost certainly be playoff rentals, so St. Louis relieves themselves of the remainder of their salary for the season, could possibly get picks or prospects in return, and still have a shot at re-signing them for next year.

New York Daily News says Schneider is available?

Yeah, like an hour before everyone else. Legit sites actually check their sources and make sure something is probably true before posting it on their website. Eklund doesn't have that burden, so he can post it immediately. If it's wrong, like it is most of the time, people apparently forget all the times he's way off the mark and cling to the rare one he actually gets right. -
my point is that its not over yet. But people will likely complain about Holland and the moves he's not making right up until the deadline. Once the dust settles, then it's time to evaluate what he did or didn't do. not a bad idea.
-
Agreed. *bracing myself for countless "Holland needs to do something!" "we need grit!" "Holland sucks!" "We need to get (unmoveable player to be named)!" and "we're gonna lose in the first round again!" threads*
-
did we really need yet another Forsberg thread? there's something like three here and three in the General Discussions.
-
again, I have to ask, have there been reports of Tkachuk being overweight other than showin up for training camp that way a year and a half ago?
-
How is this a knock on Holland? Had he matched that offer there'd be 20 threads (justifiably) on how he overpaid for Floppa. It's too early to condemn holland.
-
what it would've taken the Wings to match that offer would've been overpaying. And it's still a risk for the Preds. If they don't go fairly deep, this trade isn't worth it.
-
What would you have wanted Holland to do? He doesn't have any say in where Forsberg goes, he can only try to bring him here. And Forsberg went at a premium. Waaay too much for Detroit to match. About the only other thing Holland could've done was hit him with a bag of doorknobs and throw Floppa in the trunk of his car so he coudn't sign with the Preds.
-
arent Tkachuk and Guerin UFAs? St. Louis shouldn't mind trading in their conference that much because it would mostly be a rental.
-
Agreed. I don't really root for players to get injured... but let me say if Floppa happened to encounter health-related difficulties this postseason, it wouldn't make me sad.
-
Doan re-signed. and I don't think we have a realistic shot at Smith. Bert, Guerin, Tkachuk, Lapointe...
-
it's gotta be hard to stay motivated when you're on a team like the Blues have been the last couple years. I've heard him say several times how bad he wants to have a shot at winning the Cup, so he's at least talking the talk.

Forsberg trade around the corner....to the Preds?
haroldsnepsts replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
nope. just 99.9% of the time. actually probably less, because he posts every single posibility there is. Some of them are bound to happen. I just don't get why people follow him or think he knows anything most members here can't already figure out. The best he ever does is predicting a trade an hour before it's on TSN. -
27 points in 2002 is pretty monstrous. 8 points in 6 games in '06 11 points in 11 games in '04 8 points in 7 games in' 03 27 points in 20 games in '02 14 points in 11 games in '01 15 points in 16 games in '00 24 points in 19 games in '99 11 points in 7 games in '98 17 points in 14 games in '97 21 points in 22 games in '96. he's scored at least a point per game every single year he's been in the playoffs (except 00, and in 96 when he only had 21 points in 22 games). what would you consider monstrous?
-
exactly. don't even waste your time getting into it with that Leaf's fan.
-
Just saw the game highlights. Wow what a pass by Z on Datsyuk's goal. the goalie wasn't even looking the right way because he thought Hank was coming around the net on the wraparound with the puck.
-
Pens win on the shootout on a nice move by Malkin.
-
Yeah, it sounds like he's gonna be in the AHL another year, so I'm not sure what's gonna happen for the Wings after this season. Even if Dom holds up this season, do we want to press our luck another year? And Ozzy would have to suddenly get healthy and start playing well to begin to even think about him as our starter. The problem is that even under the cap, goaltenders go at a premium.
