MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
haroldsnepsts replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
Agreed. This year will be a much better indication of Holland's ability to close a deal, because the players are out there. -
Great goaltender? Many people here can't wait until he is the Wing's starter? Are you sure you're on the right forum? Because I've never read any of those things here. At most, there's a couple members who want Joey to be the starter. At most.
-
uhh, i'm assuming there was a post after mine that was deleted?
-
As long as we can all agree. Seriously, can we get back to the topic? as I said in my last post, you're the one who jumped in and nitpicked about this thread and called it retarded, when everyone else seems to have understood the spirit of the question. If it's so retarded, here's a thought, don't post in it.
-
Look man, if that's what you're into, I say live and let live as long as you find a consenting adult partner. But could you keep your spanking fetish out of the thread please? We were talking about hockey here. And yes, technically no one is untouchable. But the spirit of the thread is to get people's opinion of who on the team they would under most realistic circumstances not give up and keep as the core of the team. You seem to be the only one who's missed this.

Dallas is looking like a pretty good playoff team. They did better than I expected in spite of key injuries. Still, they've got the ever present playoff goaltending question. Will Turco step up? He's been yanked his last couple starts. Not a good part of the season to be looking shaky.
-
I picked Floppa, mainly because last I heard Bert may not set foot on the ice prior to the deadline. Forsberg's got a history of injuries, but he's also got a history of coming up huge in the playoffs. and who we were giving up would also be a factor.
-
there's no way he'd go to L.A. I'm assuming he wants to go to teams that are a contender, and that sure ain't the Kings. The fact that Eklund thinks Forsberg is going to detroit or the Preds makes me think Floppa ain't going either of those two places. Still, I wonder if he's bringing a suitcase to the game with him tonight?
-
Agreed. Everyone else is fair game. People have to remember that you've gotta give up someone of value to bring in someone of value. Teams aren't going to do us the favor of taking the players we want to get rid of anyway in exchange for one of their stars. We had to give up Slava Kozlov to bring in Dom in 2002. And Kozlov was one of our clutch playoff performers.
-
I'm not overly attached to Lang, but he is a playoff performer. If that get rid of him, it damn well better be for a big name.
-
I'm glad Joey got the win, but did we really need a separate thread for this?

Joey finally gets the W. wow 50 SOG by Detroit

come on guys, lock it down.

I'm just hoping the Wings can ride out the rest of the game with minimal crap from the Flames. It's good to see the young guys getting more time too.
-
he definitely moved his foot to put it in, but I don't know that it was clear enough to call it a "distinct kicking motion." it'll probably stand.
-
I love that Iginla can score, hit, and will drop the gloves to stick up for his teammates or himself, but yeah, his trying to goad anyone in our team into fighting was pathetic.
-
yup. the message was loud and clear: we goon it up when we lose, Sutter style.
-
they are when they get behind. They start hitting everything that moves, which is a legit tactic, but that often turns into cheapshots. I like Iginla a lot, but lost a lot of respect for the guy in the postseason a few seasons back and he would go trolling for fights like a goon if the Flames were behind late in the game.
-
Nice cheapshot. some things about Calgary just don't change.
-
Yes they need a goal scorer for the playoffs. And in the playoffs scoring goals often requires grit. The two are one in the same. And no, they don't need Laraque. Certainly not as a playoff rental.
-
man, what a drag that the site lags out like this during the GDT's.
-
wow is my yahoo broadcast behind the game. the feed i'm watching, there's still 1:20 left! shh! no one tell me what happens.
-
Get ready for Calgary to goon it up soon.
