    Sean Avery traded to Rangers

a glimmer of hope for the Kings...

    Peter Forsberg

It'd be a weird sight. for sure. But I wouldn't be thinking much about it when I saw Zetterberg and Lidstrom and Datsyuk and Lang and Chelios and the rest of the Wings all skating around with the Cup.

    Peter Forsberg

it's also something just about every goaltender has done or tried in their career.
  4. haroldsnepsts

    Peter Forsberg

even though he's one of the best goaltenders to ever play the game and would greatly increase the Wing's chance of winning the Cup? whiny yes. I don't consider Roy dirty though.

NHL needs to get back on espn ASAP

I think soccer is a popular game for a lot of kids in the U.S. growing up. There seems to be soccer leagues everywhere. But as we've seen, that doesn't translate into the sport being popular to watch.

Sean Avery on the Trade Market

Agreed. People seem to think he's grown up just because he's not on the Wings anymore and they want him back. He still takes bad penalties. he's still an idiot. He was recently chosen as the dirtiest player in the league by more than 100 of his peers. No thanks.

    Peter Forsberg

Same reason I would've taken Roy during his years in colorado. The guy's a great player and would make the team better. (Forsberg's health issues notwithstanding). Chelios was a hated Blackhawk before coming here, remember? I hated Cheli much more than I ever did Floppa.

FORSBERG TO BE TRADED (WITHIN THE NEXT 24HRS)

wow sherly, I'm surprised as well. and you need to shave your legs if you're gonna wear a dress that revealing.

Sean Avery on the Trade Market

why on earth do people want this guy back?!?!? no thank you.

    Tucker a Wing?

I could live with him as a playoff rental, thats' about it. I'd love the guy if not for the cheapshots (which I hear he's toned down a bit).

Instead of signing online petitions, I just sign my name to a piece of paper then put it in the shredder. It has an equal chance of working, and shredding things is fun.

    Tucker a Wing?

Probably, just by sheer number of wild-ass guesses he makes.

Bettman is the king of denial. And they better not choose playoff home ice by the winner of the All-Star game. That better be totally untrue.

I think that says more about you than it does those players.

    Super Bowl XLI

Pumped in noise? you're thinking of Seattle maybe? and if I had to pick which QB would find a way to lose this game between Manning and Grossman, I sure ain't picking Manning. The Bears may win in spite of Grossman, but I don't see the Colts losing because of Manning.

    Super Bowl XLI

With the Saints gone, I'm on the Colts bandwagon. No one with a QB as inconsistent as Grossman deserves to win the Superbowl.

    David Beckham joining LA Galaxy

so basically $10 mill for salary and $10 mill for his stake in the club. still seems like it'll be awfully hard to afford.

    David Beckham joining LA Galaxy

How can an MLS franchise afford to pay one player $50 million a year and have any hopes of making any money?

    Williams a healthy scratch tonight...

Williams was terrible in the game against L.A., and made a couple unbelievably bone-headed decisions. It could be a trade, but it just might be Babcock had enough.

    Detroit Lions Offseasn Thread

Agreed. There's so many changes to be made, but I wouldn't put Kitna near the top of the list. The sad part is, the Ford Family has little incentive to change as long as people keep going to the games. Aren't they practically selling out? The Lions fans have been ridiculouly faithful, and the Ford family is abusing that loyalty. ugh. I can't even think about another year of Millen.

Detroit Lions, NFL 2006 Season Thread

But he would be in line with the Lion's history of signing the highest drafted, highest paid clipboard holders in the NFL. no kidding. That's crazy enough that it just might work.

Detroit Lions, NFL 2006 Season Thread

The Lions are such a sad case, I hardly know what to say anymore... The saddest part is us fans are such gluttons for punishment, we keep going to games. I can't see the Ford family shaking things up as long as the stadium is full. Here's some interesting tidbits about our beloved Matt Millen. Millen had no prior player development or front office experience beforehand before being hired by the Lions. He is widely regarded as a laughingstock in NFL circles, with former NFL executive of the year Ron Wolf's describing his record as "pathetic" and "inept." The season before Millen, the Lions were 9-7 and barely missed the playoffs if not for a 54 yard fieldgoal by the Bears on the final play of the final game of the season. Since Millen, the Detroit Lions are 23-71 as of December 17, 2006, the worst winning percentage of all 32 NFL teams during that time, and the worst record of any franchise in league history over a comparable period of time. ugh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Millen
