Is it wrong of me to think they picked Howard for the Olympics in part for the Winter Classic announcement potential? To be clear I think he played great today up to the shootout, but don't think he really deserved the Olympic nod based on his play this season (plus I'd rather he have the break).

Why does it matter how he looks doing it? Cleary has been one of the best Wings players on the ice today. If people can't even admit that then I'm not sure what to say. That's why he's getting more ice time. Guys like Bertuzzi are invisible but now people are actually bashing Cleary for generating scoring chances. Honestly there's really nothing to discuss. The Cleary hate has little to do with what happens on the ice. That became extremely obvious in today's game is all.

All that anger should be directed at Holland, not Cleary. All Cleary does is bust his ass every game.

Datsyuk, Tatar, Zetterberg, and Nyquist have all had great chances they didn't bury either. And they have a lot better hands than Cleary. It's hilarious that even when half the team is invisible out there, Cleary gets flack for playing well and getting scoring chances. If it were anyone else people would be talking about how he's been buzzing today and hopefully will bury one.

This has probably been Cleary's best game of the year and he's outplayed several more talented forwards on the team. Agreed. I honestly don't know if it was or wasn't. Which is why it's hilarious that Olczyk is using some angle from high along the side boards to determine that it was a good goal.
