It's nice to see another line other than the 1st having sustained puck possession and pressure in their end. How did they not score?? 2 minutes to go keep Q and Kindl away from each other out there. -

Q makes another nice defensive play but loses his stick, then everyone looks like they've lost their coverage. Jimmy was too aggressive on that one. -

That's the thing, Quincey was doing plenty looking bad on his own in recent games, but some of those were compounded by a bad play from Kindl. Often tossing him a hot potato under pressure. -

I know you guys will probably get sick of me saying it, but the Wings need more guys driving hard to the net. So many rushes end up with the guys along the outside or pulling up short. Go to the net! -

Agreed. They caught the Wings and executed it well. Like I said, ideally Kindl could've played it differently but as I was typing it I also realize it's hard to be arguing that covering the guy driving right at the middle of the net is "wrong." -

Someone went off for the change turning it into an odd man rush but I think Kindl could've played it better. You can't leave that third guy wide open. Kronwall was playing it like a two on one down the left side, Kindl could've cheated a little towards the free man. Hindsight 20/20 and whatnot though. I should probably be happy Kindl covered the front of the net instead of skating behind it. -

Nice move Alfie. Wings need bodies going to the net, even on the PP. Ease up a hair on the passes Kindl. You're rocketing them off guys sticks thru center ice. -

Yeha I'm not sure the thinking there other than it will be a good spot for him to stay deep and do a lot of hard work getting the pucks out of the corners. As for holding his position in front? Not so sure. ah. good point. Forgot or $3 million fourth liner is in tonight. -

On the second line I feel like Helm's job will be to go like hell, retrieve the puck for Alfie and Mule, then go like hell to the net. -
I'm sure Stevie can relate from sliding into the post and getting an injury. At least for Stamkos the net came off its moorings. Hopefully his injury will heal a lot better than Yzerman's did.

He doesn't really fight that much so often when it happens it's both guys going at it. It very well could've happened but I don't remember him seeking guys out. With Cleary he made pretty sure Danny wanted to go. Of course then he immediately poked him in the eye too. Glancing down his fight card he's fought guys like Marty Lapointe, Barnaby, Laperrierre, Krys Barch. He's a sasquatch but didn't have a ton of fights in his career.

Absolutely HOF material. He was a bruising Dman the likes you don't see in the NHL anymore. A more recent version of Chelios, only bigger. Honestly spot-picking I don't hold against guys like Pronger (the other qualities, absolutely). As one of the top D-men he'd be an idiot to take himself off the ice for 5 minutes to fight just anyone. Most defenseman should be spot-pickers when it comes to dropping the gloves.

If memory serves he dropped the gloves for a teammate in his very first game on the Wings. I remember thinking "this guy is awesome!"

It couldn't hurt for the league to adopt a Ray Emery rule, but it should be about getting suspended for skating the length of the rink to fight and continue beating on an unwilling opponent, not anything about goalies fighting specifically.
