That line is one of the only ones going hard to the net.

I think Howard is fine. He's not awful at it. He's good enough to usually make the simple play and let his defensemen move it up ice.

I'd be curious to see how often a puck handling goalie like Bishop turns the puck over through the course of a game. So many times goalies who are aggressive like him pass up an easy 4 foot pass to a defenseman to try and make a play up ice and more often than not their team loses possession. But people only remember the times the pass works and forget all the turnovers.

I don't know what Kronner was thinking there when Bert turned the puck over. You don't pinch to make it worse. Start skating backwards as fast as you can. Nice play by DeKeyser on the 2 on 1. I think the rule in that situation is everyone cover Stamkos. Abby's had some jump. nice try but the puck clipped Bishop's pads on the way under.

DeKeyser looks gassed and has made a couple bad turnovers.

gotta dump that puck in the corner the same side the benches are on. Bowman used to harp on guys all the time for not putting it in that corner.

Maybe so. The only theory I had for Cleary being up on the 2nd line was to try and have some sort of overall balance for all lines. As much as I don't think Cleary is the manifestation of all things terrible like some people claim, he definitely isn't a 2nd liner anymore.

Unfortunately the bottom 6 still looks like a collection of spare parts, but it will be interesting to see that 2nd line. Alfie and Tatar to set up and finish plays. Helm to chase down any defensive lapses.

Tim Thomas is another example. He's a guy known for not being the best teammate, especially on a Boston team that's very big on the "all for one" mentality, but the guy stood on his head in goal so it didn't matter. There are guys who are true cancers, like Avery, but ultimately they're professionals. Especially when it comes to goalies, who are generally nutjobs.

Not to mention some of his fellow Hawks fans just took had that full pane of glass land in their laps. Rather than help lift it off them like some fans did, he actually leans on it to steal the helmet. -
Don't forget he gave him a $500k per year raise too.

It's starting to feel like there should be a separate thread regarding the Wing's ongoing cap crunch, but for now this seemed like the best place. Ansar Khan @AnsarKhanMLive 21s Once Ericsson comes off LTIR next FRI, sending Tootoo to G. Rapids won't clear enough cap space for Wings. Still need to shed more salary.

I don't know. Dekeyser was born in Detroit, played minor hockey around the Detroit area and I'm guessing grew up watching the Red Wings. The Wings won Cups when he was 7, 8, 12 and 18 years old. That had to help the Wings lobbying efforts a lot.

True. An actual benching for poor play does seem like a stretch (even if I'd love to see it happen to him after a game where he floats). I wondered more if it was that he was sick or something was going on, and then when he's feeling better it was a case of Babcock not changing the lineup. Though it's not like they've been on a big win streak so that seems unlikely too. It's just so weird. I definitely hope it's not something serious.

I think it's a woman who dumps the beer on him. Near the guy who steals his helmet. Right around the 19 second mark, and a better angle around 1:26. And man does that dude look like he's the elite alcoholic level hammered. -
