The irony is that whenever he "kicks the tires" on a trade deal, the other team is always asking too high a price involving prospects. So Holland clearly values the Wing's prospects, just not enough to actually play them.

I think a big part of the Wings' scoring woes is they're having such a hard time getting out of their own zone. They don't seem to have set exit plays and the defensive corps is too inexperienced to just wing it all the time. As a result the forwards are spending a lot of their shifts in their own end trying to retrieve pucks. -

Quincey has been a mostly serviceable middle pairing guy, but this was not a very good game from him. Kindl either. Even with that last goal, Dekeyser had a great night. Jimmy too. The Wings are a one line team and then a bunch of guys that look like pickup hockey linemates. -

The ref 10 feet away was content to let the Rags continue holding. This is one of the few times the center ice ref makes a call far away from the play. Alfie can't get the shot off but he had a wide open net. crap. -

There's a lot of problems, but his absence sure isn't helping. Aside from being a good stay at home D man, Ericsson has a very underrated first pass. That helps the forwards spend less time in their own end. -
