Well, if Datsyuk and Z aren't centering him since they're back together who is going to center him? Hudler isn't an NHL center. I'm really confused why you seem to dislike Filppula so much, are you just trying to overcompensate for the people who "overrate" him?
-
That remains to be seen, he's never played with an elite scorer. I doubt Fil will ever scored 60 points consistently but his offensive "deficiencies" are greatly overblown.
-
No, no one is going to get 70 points a year playing on a 3rd line with no PP time. However, if Datsyuk and Z get back together there's no one more qualified to center Hossa. Filppula will not score more than 50 points this year since the line for the premium scoring lines are longer than ever.
-
Sorry dallas, you need to go back and watch some games of Hossa back in his Atlanta days. Filppula is a hall of famer compared to his centers there.

Yeah a 25 second shift is all the evidence we need!

Kopecky looked pretty good today and had some nice chances. But some people are going to see what they want to see no matter what happens.

Ever heard of the term "mid-season" form? Now I know english isn't your first language but the word mid is short for middle. It's going to take more than 1 game for the Wings to be firing on all cylinders.
-
Yeah no kidding. Let's blow up the entire lineup 2 games in? Yeah that doesn't look like the Wings are panicking at all.

THE SEASON IS SAVED MY FRIENDS

That's not really true, there's only losers in debates like this and I'm standing on the top of the mountain.

http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/...y_and_Wojo_Show - Kenny mentions flexibility a lot and having to trade a defensemen in a matter of weeks. - Addresses the kids who got moved down to GR and Aaron Downey's status. - Holland said he told Darren Helm that the Wings have big plans for him and that he'll have a long career with the Wings. Believes that it's only worthwhile to have Helm up if he's one of the top 12 forwards. Lots more stuff too. Give it a listen.

Yay.

The Wings don't have a 1st line and a 2nd line they have two 1st lines. They also don't have a 1st unit and a 2nd unit, they have two 1st units.

It's not that some people part ways, it's that the debate becomes frivolous since it's impossible to determine if that was the case or not. It's a fantastic debate to get your post count up since there's no real facts or evidence to prove or disprove it.

There's zero chance Downey gets claimed, there's better enforcers that got waived despite Downey's claim that he's a top 5 enforcer in the game. It's fine to be annoyed by the move but I know you're smart enough, BlueMonk, to realize that just because player A isn't on the roster to start the season doesn't mean player A won't be there at some point. This had more to do with cap issues and the "problem" of having too many good players and not enough roster slots. For some reason people see a player getting waived and they view it as a death sentence and he's gone forever. Downey knew the deal and everyone else should've as well when he signed a two-way deal. It's either start trading or losing players now or KEEP EVERYONE and have some NHL players start in the minors. Big friggin' deal.

Mike Babcock raved about Leino's skill, and there's no question he'll be with the Wings sooner or later this season. "This is the best player I’ve been involved in sending to the minors, I can tell you that," Babcock said. "He’s got a nose for the net, goes to the net, dominant on the cycle, makes great passes. He’s a Red Wings type player. Leino, I think he's going to be a scoring machine."

The shortsightedness when these things happen never cease to amaze me. Downey will not be in GR all season so the overreaction is unnecessary.
-
Datsyuk's line if Holmstrom isn't in, but there's no way Homer won't play. He'll stay the 13th forward and get spot duty.

Aaron Downey placed on waivers http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/

It says to me that if Holmstrom is injured Leino will be the one to take his place. It may appear that way but it's better to err on the side of caution until official announcements are made.

That's not what this says.
