Samuelsson also played less than 60 games.
-
Anaheim didn't fire him.
-
Or he could be like Gauthier and turtle, easy way to get out of it.
-
I guess Downey but not as an every day starter, Sopel was dreadful last night and Downey played hard but I wouldn't want him to touch the ice in the playoffs.
-
If you don't want stats or facts, stop portraying your opinion as such.
-
Do people forget that Lebda plays virtually zero penalty kill time and is never put into a position where they need his defensive game. Lebda is strictly a 5 on 5 guy with good speed, his potential does not exceed that.
-
Define "something" because at worst Kronwall was our 4th best defensemen last year who played in every situation and led the team in blocked shots. It wasn't the type of season everyone was hoping for, but it could've been a lot worse.
-
I wasn't implying Samuelsson would be a major player in a high profile rent-a-player trade, just saying that his value is worth something.
-
I completely disagree, I know you hate Samuelsson, but 20/20 guys who only make 1.2m a year and are at worst average defenseively aren't throw ins. No, he's not young, no he doesn't have a proven track record when not playing with a superstar center, but his contract along with this past two seasons make him worth a lot more than nothing.

Top 4 defensemen don't usually get camp try outs. If Sopel made the team he may act as a #4, but he wouldn't be one.

But he seems to want players who can skate and play defense more, so if Downey can do that along with be physical and fight he has a good shot.
-
If Grigorenko doesn't make the team he'll go back to Russia.
-
So would Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

Talk about a reach.
-
And they won't be, Quincey and Kindl have better shots at making the Wings than Sopel or Cullimore.
-
Because they're not making the big club regardless.
-
How has Seabrook demonstrated that he's a proven leader? Lang has captained NHL teams and Olympic teams, obviously there's something there.
-
Rafalski "paired" with Lidstrom is like any pairing with Lidstrom in it, they may be "paired" together but both will play with almost every other defensemen throughout the game.
-
There's not a lot of choices.

It's to be expected that Grigorenko isn't in any projected lineup as of now, Babcock doesn't know what he can do, hell no one really does. Grigs has never played in a North American format for a long period of time so he'll be on the outside looking in for a little bit. With that being said, Grigs will be given every opportunity to become an impact player, Holland and Nill didn't patiently wait all of these years to give him a half-assed shot at making the squad and allow him to run home to Russia. As for the other lines, nothing too surprising, Samuelsson works very well with Zetterberg so he fits in there, Hudler may or not work on that line but it's nice to know he's starting on a line with an elite center. I love Franzen playing with Datsyuk but not sure how Holmstrom will produce without Zetterberg. It's silly to get upset about these lines, they could be totally different one hour into training camp. Uh, what? When did he say this?

Can only keep one, I asked last year and the consensus was Lehtonen and I agreed. While I believe Lehtonen is going to be better than both eventually, is Emery that much better in the short term that I should roll with him and try to get Lehtonen later? Thanks for any comments. The rest of my team is: Joe Thornton Anze Kopitar Paul Stastny Thomas Vanek Justin Williams Jay Bouwmeester J.M. Liles
