You can when you've never made the playoffs. Desperation time in the ATL.
-
There was no elbow involved.

Uh, Lupul is not their Zetterberg, Edmonton fans don't even like Lupul so that's why there's not any uproar. Lupul is not the future of their franchise, they're putting very little stock into him. Also, did you not watch the game? Kronwall WAS penalized for the hit. I'm not into people cheap shotting each other, but the Oilers have done their fair share of questionable hits towards us, call this their karma. Stop acting like the Oilers have never done this 10 times over to us.
-
I'm going to be a hypocrite but I don't give a s*** if that was a dirty hit or not. I do not like the Oilers, I don't like all of the whining that MacTavish does and the flopping around that Roloson does. Call this payback from the Torres hit on Williams early on, clean or not.

Dumont is overpaid, meh on Sykora he's not what we need and Guerin would've been nice.
-
Tkachuk has more points in less playoff games than Guerin.

I have a portion of season tickets and this game last night was the most dead it's been all season. The Nashville game back on Jan. 17th was pretty loud, but I can understand last night being dead. 1) It was a Wednesday game against a non-playoff team. 2) That 2nd period had zero action, nothing happened. 3) It was the Chicago Blackhawks. As for the Wings fans not getting out of their seats for a goal? Everyone got up when we scored.
-
Yet he had zero chemistry with Shanahan. There goes that theory. Think he had something like 7 primary assists on Shanny's 40 goals?
-
If the asking price is still Hudler + 1st for Bill Guerin I'd pass as well. Especially since he'd want 4m+ next year anyway.
-
/sigh I never said the regular season was meaningless in terms of contributions. The point was that no one ever questioned his regular season ability. If Datsyuk would've just been mediocre in the playoffs from the time he became the player who he is right now, no one would be concerned.
-
Statements like the one I have made don't take the regular season into account because in threads like this it's irrelevant.
-
If Datsyuk had contributed from the start no one would want Datsyuk traded.
-
Florida also has to save face, at this point they traded Luongo for Bryan Allen.
-
Never said they weren't on the same line last season.

No kidding, Zetterberg played on a line with Samuelsson and Holmstrom for most of last season. I'm not going to argue that they're better together, that's obvious, but the fact I'm trying to get across is that Datsyuk is only as good as his linemates while Zetterberg can be very good with whoever. Obviously not as good as with Datsyuk, but he'd still lead the team in goals.
-
This is completely false, last season Z played the majority of it with Holmstrom and Samuelsson. Datsyuk and Z played together last year, but Hank can play with anyone and produce. This is the difference between the two, Datsyuk needs Zetterberg more than Zetterberg needs Datsyuk. Z produces with whoever is on his line, Datsyuk MUST have another great player there for him to be successful. Case in point all of the "Which winger do we get for Datsyuk??" threads.

Wow, you managed to quote 4 people and still add nothing to the discussion, awesome!

I know www.nhlpa.com gives the salaries, and tsn.ca shows team payroll pages.
-
Before they weren't as valuable, in the capped NHL, picks value will increase a great deal.
-
And I hate using this as a defense because I argued against it all off season, but which team has had more success in the last 5 years? It's an ugly defense since there are holes in the argument, but as far as consistency goes, Detroit is still the model.

I still don't see how we're softer than last year.
