Witt is not going to do much, we usually get 30+ shots on Nashville every time we play them, Witt isn't going to do s**t but give us more powerplay oppourtunities.
-
And do you think that Brenden Witt or Salei would've changed anything in your statementy? Haha, get a clue. Calgary beat us twice way back when before our team totally gelled. Let's wait until April. Calgary will never do anything in the playoffs with their 28th ranked offense. Look at the recent years, the last time the a team won the cup (I think) where they both didn't have offense and defense in the top 10 was the Penguins in the early 90's.
-
You mean besides the game we did beat them, right?
-
Higgy4, Come on man, Holland just gave away a 4th rounder for a guy that sucks and that doesn't benefit the team and you want us all to be happy about it. Every other team around us got stronger and all we did was get slower. Calgary didn't! Neither did Colorado. Edmonton got a boost, but not much, Dallas got a little bit stronger and Vancouver still has a lot of problems to deal with. No one became more of a threat.

Pretty much yeah, Cross might start a game or 2 before the season is over just to validate the trade, but I don't see him being a regular. Witt was never coming here, Salei was never, Carney was too old and not worth a draft pick. I'd rather hang on to our prospects and picks, our fate in the playoffs doesn't rest on the shoulders of a 6th defensemen.

Now Barnsey, I'm not being sarcastic at all here, this was the post I've been waiting for. I really look foward to you and Barnes52 for the approval of the tough guys or at least guys with size. If you're not dissapointed, I'm not (I wasn't before.)
-
Is Salei even really available? You'd think he would've gone.
-
People were dreaming if they thought we'd actually get Salei or Witt. It was never going to happen, I'd rather not move high picks and prospects for those players.
-
I'm indifferent, I was fine if we didn't make any deals at all. This is pretty much like that.
-
It's in the trade deadline thread already.
-
This really contradicts what Holland said on the radio today if it's true. He was pretty adamant that if today was the trade deadline he wouldn't be making any moves. I've been pretty happy with most of the moves, so if this is our depth guy, so be it.

So, 1 vote for bad thing 1 vote for this being a good thing so far?

Thanks a lot for this Hatch! As for trading him, I'm going to abstain from giving an opinion for the reason that I don't know what kind of player he is that well. I've only seen him a handfull of times. But with saying that, if we can get someone who is more than a rent-a-player for him that will benefit the club for a few years I'm all for trading Hudler.
-
Yeah that's probably it, but it's more fun to speculate!
-
You mean watching the Calgary Flames struggle to score goals?
-
He's never really fit in with the NHL game, he's really only good on the big ice.
-
Didn't Chris Clark just re-up with them?
-
Well, since a team like the Penguins or Blues would claim him, they could claim then trade I suppose.
-
I wish I had a link, it's from a HFBoards thread.
-
huh? when was Witt brought up?
-
Pretty sure he's talking about Bettman, but he couldn't find of a word that rhymes with bett.
-
Haha, no thanks, massive overpayment.
-
We bought out McCarty, we can't get him back this year.
