Vandermeer would cost more since he's in the same division IMO. The Hawks would probably want to move him out of the divison.
-
It doesn't say the greatest player.
-
Sure other teams are going to look at him, but if he is seriously putting getting a ring first on his list over the money and if Detroit looks best suited to take go far again why wouldn't he prefer to come here? I mean, Howard will be a good or possibly great goalie but he could be 4 years away if he doesn't devolp fast enough. Theodore is coming out west, so that is going to take away the needs of either Edmonton, Colorado or Vancouver, so then that would leave Edmonton and Colorado to get a goalie if they don't get Biron or something. And Colorado will still have to try and resign Blake and Sakic since they didn't exersize their team options. Also remember that the cap is supposed to rise by 5m or so, so we'll have even more room to make some moves, it isn't so crazy.

No cup contender is going to have 7m+ to sign him, and in his quote he's saying that money isn't really everything he's looking for. If the Wings could free up 5m in cap space and and make a good showing this year in the playoffs (or win the cup!) that would probably be Luongo's first choice. Considering half our on 1 year contracts we could make it work. But I'm not sure if we should do that or just wait for Howard.
-
You want consistency and you're using Theodore as an example?
-
Yeah, that's the main problem with the trade proposals is that no one outside of the organization really knows exactly how much there is to spend.
-
I'd love Modin he's a great player and has a reasonable contract, but in all reality it will not happen this year. We have no way to bring in another 2m+ contract on anyone. From what I gather the Fischer money is still being counted against the cap because everytime I hear about him they keep saying that he'll have to make a decision whether he wants to play again this year. Or maybe that just means that he'll have to decide because it ISN'T being counted against so if we sign someone with his money he CAN'T come back. Yeah, that has to be it. Anyway, after that, I don't want Theodore, he hasn't been playing well at all this year and this isn't the time to take a chance on Theo. As for Komisarek, he's going to be the type of guy that Holland will get, I also suspect that he'll get a cheap banging foward, nothing will total over 1.1 million IMO, unless Lang actually gets traded which I don't think he will. (this year)

No they don't, they have Noronen as backup. If they wanted a Veteren goalie to serve as a mentor they'd keep Biron.
-
They don't need a goalie back.

When are you changing your name to Bootland27?

Always nice to see pleasent surprised, eh?

Probably, a lot of people were appualed at the fact that Babcock liked Lebda earlier in the year.
-
That's hilarious because I get you guys confused all the time, and I have no idea why.

I just realized that I don't smile often in pictures, and I also realized that I don't even have many pictures.

I wonder if Hines will cry again.

She wouldn't have to if people didn't go absolutely nuts after bad games like this.
-
um, NN, don't you know anything? We would've had more wins with Howard or MacIntyre in net.

Step away from the GDT, hockeycrazy3033.

No, its just one of those "thea team carried Osgood" arguments. Ah well, I don't feel like getting into it anymore and I hope Manny doesn't let in another goal while he's starting. I just can't wait to see the excuses if he loses.
-
Ah I got it, another one of the "I don't care if Osgood wins because he played s***ty anyway" arguments. I guess those weren't wins, they just weren't losses. Anyway, good, I hope Manny keeps the #1 job so there's no more arguments. Manny better not f**k up the rest of the way though, and he sure as hell better bring it into the playoffs better than he did in '03.

Except when Osgood wins, right?

I'm not even defending Osgood, I don't really care if he ever plays again, but it's ALWAYS his fault when he loses to people. They ALWAYS say Legace would've won if he played. No matter what happens, when the wings lose and Osgood is in, it's HIS fault. That's MY argument. It NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER goes both ways.
