Lots of goalies have played for s***ty teams and won playoff series =p
-
Thibault falls apart faster in the playoffs almost as quick as Chokemonic. The best goalie available is Chris Osgood, a proven, stanley cup winner, whp's 2nd overall in Detroit Shutouts and has the ability to solid throughout the season and playoffs.
-
Also, Kovalchuk takes nearly every shot for ATL on the PP =P
-
Hopefully Osgood, the only true proven goalie out of them.
-
Sure he's worth it, he was an important part on the Canadiens during their last cup run, if I remember correctly, him and Desjardans we're the #1 and #2 defensemen. His point speak for themselves, he's at the point in his career where he's just below Lidstrom is offensive ability, but just above the average defensemen in defense ability. There was really no other defensemen of his calibre that would be had for under 3m. If Gonchar is worth 5m a season, Schnieder is worth 3.3, easily.
-
It makes no sense, why would we want a 4m goalie and a 4th line player for Zetterberg when he'd be cheaper than both?
-
Lets see, 2nd all time in Shutouts on the Wings, 2 stanley cups. vs. Thibault who has done... nothing? I'll take Osgood, thanks.

Seems to me that the instigator was the first step, then you can't fight in the final 5 minutes of the 3rd period, then you they'll change it to you can't fight at all in the 3rd period, then gradually, it'll get more and more toned down. I hope I'm wrong, I love fighting in hockey, but that's what the domino effect looks lilke.
-
You saw the third peroid instigator suspension rule, right?
-
Fighting is almost banned in the NHL, it's getting closer and closer.
-
Fantastic.
-
Uh, who would Wade play for on our team? Chauncey? Rip? You honestly would've felt more comfortable with them in the place of Darko?
-
hindsight is fantastc isn't it?
-
I highly highly doubt that Darko will see more than ten minutes a game, let alone 15-20. I mean damn, what's the point of even keeping McDyess if we're just going to let Darko take up most if not all of his time. The times when they'd be both on the court would be very limited, usually either Ben or Sheed are on the court if the either one is resting, it'd have to be some strict circumstances for McDyess and Darko to both be out there. This team really isn't in great need of devolping Darko quickly, our starting 5 will remain intact for at least 5 more seasons.

No thanks, Detroit already has a "thug" image as is, no need to feed the fuel to the fire.

i hope you're being sarcastic.

no doubt, it's kinda funny but this year without hockey has actually been a good year with sports for me. before when the red wings were on all the time, i'd never pay attention to football or basketball really, sure i'd watch a game here or there, watch the playoffs, but i was never into it was i was with hockey. i wasn't as enthralled into the other sports. now that i watched football so entetnly and watch the nba playoffs so closely, it'll be interesting to see how i deal with all of the sports next year.

The Spurs were the better team, they did everything they had to do to win this series, and not taking ANYTHING away from the Spurs, but they SHOULD'VE won this game being at home. As far as I'm concered we lost this game when we lost game 5, that was our game 7 and we blew it. People seem to think the Pistons won't be back next year or something, we'll be back, hell, the Spurs didn't win their 2nd until 4 years later.
-
Ah well, was a good series. We gave it a great shot, no one expected us to get this far in the playoffs. The Spurs just happened to be the better team tonight. Tim Duncan finally showed that he was the best player on the floor. We'll be back though.

Chauncey gets it blocked at the 3 pt line, that's pretty much the story of the game.
