I haven't seen this posted yet, so I guess I will. This months Hockey News Magazine is their annual release of their ratings of the prospects for this year's draft, and ratings for all of the current prospects of NHL teams 1-75. They do a write up of each team, so I try to grab it every year as it's a decent read. Anyways I thought it made us look our prosprects look pretty decent as well are the only team with five prospects in the top 75. Although the Blue Jackets do have four players in the top 20 in: Voracek(4), Brassard(6), Mason (13), and Brule(14). The Wings kids were rated as follows... 1. Jakub Kindl (36) 2.Jonathan Ericsson (46) 3. Jimmy Howard (55) 4. Brendan Smith (71) 5. Darren Helm (73) 6.Corey Emmerton 7. Justin Abdelkader 8. Jan Mursak 9. Kyle Quincey 10. Joakim Andersson Brendan Smith is being touted as a "...tremendous skater and a creative player who likes to carry the puck.", and is likened to Niklas Kronwall at the same age.I think it's pretty cool that we have prospects as good as Emmerton, and Abdelkader that low on our depth charts, as they seem pretty good too me I actually thought Emmerton was actually better than Helm. Also, what ever happened to goalie Henrik Larsson (sp?) I heard he could even come to NA in a couple years. ...and for those who care Carey Price was touted as the top NHL prospect.

I think it came out in sometime March, but Price only really recently became the bona-fide starter in Montreal, basically around the trade deadline. Brule is probably on there because he was sent down a couple times this year too.

Ok, I am going to break the rules of this thread I apologize, but I don't feel like starting a new thread . However, after game 2 on Saturday (which I watched at Hockeytown cafe) we went to the Joe to try and get some autographs. As soon as I got there Meech was just driving away and I missed getting his, but Downey was there and I got his. He was a really awesome guy he was joking with everyone, and made goofy faces at everyone when he drove off. Datsyuk was the next one to stop which actually really shocked me, but as he was signing, he saw a little girl that was with some one and stopped to give her a stuffed bear with a Red Wings shirt on it to her. That just seemed really nice to me that he would think of doing something like that even when hid didn't even have to stopped. Plus his car was full with friends/family. He seems like a really classy guy. Also, Draper stopped but he didn't stay long because his kids were in the car. His younger one looks alot like him it was pretty funny, but they were both soo cute.

I thought it was pretty awesome that Serge scored the Caps' game winner in their clinching game against Florida. It was a freakin' snipe.

Ya you can park at Greektown casino, and get your parking validated there and just go acorss the street to Pizza Papalis' on Monroe st. The people mover at the casino will take you right to the Joe. Plus there is a good bakery right next to the Pizza place, called Astoria.

Ya, I posted about this in the Sharks v Stars thread. This really pissed me off, first of all it was at the end of overtime so it was not necessary. Second, why is Lappy taking liberties with the start players? I am glad Gabby reacted the way he did. Real bad move for Lappy though he will have a target on his back for Simon and Boogard. I may be biased because I hate the Avs, and Gabby is one of my favorite non-wings, but Lappy is just starting to be such a pansy. Edit: even more important, what I missed before...Why does Hannan jump in to "protect" Lappy? Seriously, if i saw Downey start a fight with Sakic like that I honestly would not cheer him on. Downey would never do that in a Wings jersey.

Ya, that looks good man fine work. I never understood why the Wild have their logo facing the other way, it has just always bugged me a little bit.

Ya, this is the only thing keeping me from making up my mind on this one yet, the Caps have been just on a ROLL while Philly...not so much, it really makes a big difference in going into the playoffs HOT or just going 5-5 in the last ten. Philly has some guys with alot of experience that should shine (Briere,Prospal,Knuble), but who knows how much Ovie is going to pick his game up.

I'm not going to make all of my predictions right now, but I really think Philly is going to take Washington. Philly has just seemed to have GREAT depth, I mean they have like what, 7 so goal scorers counting Prospal? Washington does have a near 70 goal scorer in Ovechkin, and a great coach but their depth is just so limited IMO.

Here's something to think about, one of Minnesota or Colorado, and Philly or Wash will be in the second round. I really think Wash is more than capable of handling Philly especially if Huet stays hot. Also, I really hope Colorado beats out Minny, just because of the fact than we won't have to play the Ducks in the second round.

I didn't think this deserves it's own thread, but Ian Lappierierre (sp) has entered a new realm of ****** bagness. Overtime ends for the game, and Lappy fights....wait for it...Marian Gaborik. Way to go after the star players of the team Lappy. The sad thing is Gabby held his own. Now Lappy is going to have to deal with Boogard and Simon all series. and BTW I am really glad the Sharks and Flames will be playing each other and not Sharks and Avs.

YESSS!!! What a great day for the sport of hockey, he seemed like he was always trying to draw attention to himself on the ice, which isn't necessary. I wonder if he will be officiating in the playoffs, however.

Ya Mcguire was trying to call Milbury on, Milbury saying Hasek was going of struggle but Milbury was having none of it.

Milbury traded away Chara and Luongo for nothing...he can never be right about anything ever.

Here is something for people to think about, what if Gretzky wore a different number not so "odd" like lets say a 10, or even 9 something to that extent, do you guy still think it would be retired league wide? I mean initial reaction says "of course", but I could see it not happening too.

This just scares me, because the Preds are bound to win a playoff series sometime, and with the wings history, and how hot Ellis has been...ugh.
