    Pistons vs. Wings

I only watch Pistons' games during their playoffs (unless I get free tickets to a regular season game). And I always pick Wings playoff action over the Pistons. I'll probably check on the Pistons' game during the intermissions tonight, but that's all. Go Pistons. Go Wings!

    PLYMOUTH WHALERS 2007 OHL CHAMPIONS!

The Whalers haven't officially scheduled a celebration party for when they return home from the Memorial Cup, but it looks like it might be May 30th according to my boss.

    PLYMOUTH WHALERS 2007 OHL CHAMPIONS!

$30 Tickets still available for tonight

I just got an email saying someone else bought the tickets I thought I had purchased right before I did so that's why I had not already received the tickets. I called the ticket office and my credit card will not be charged. I'm going to keep an eye on ticket prices (I can't afford $55 for a seat behind the net) and if it goes lower I'll buy 2 and let you guys know how it goes!

$30 Tickets still available for tonight

I bought a pair for $25 at 9:45am, but haven't received the tickets by email yet. It's still early and I'm sure I have to wait for whoever's tickets those are to email them to me. I figured I could take a chance on $25. I'll let you guys know how it goes... Oh, 3-4 people at RedWingsCentral.com used the site and got their tickets on time and used them at the game. http://rwctalk.proboards98.com/index.cgi?b...1312&page=2

My dad and I sat in the second row near the blue line for game two and my dad took a lot of photos with his really nice digital camera. You can check them out here if you're interested. This was my favorite photo:

Noise noticably absent at the Joe

Yeah, I went to Game #5 last Saturday and it was really loud (more so than the first two games against Edmonton last year). I'm going tomorrow afternoon as well so I know I'll be cheering really loudly!

Noise noticably absent at the Joe

I actually wrote about this very topic for my Wings' blog, Behind the Jersey. I compared the Wings and Pistons in terms of their postseason success, sellouts, arena capacity, and ticket sales. I also tried to describe the horrible Michigan economy for those living outside the state. http://www.behindthejersey.com/2007/04/27/...s-ticket-sales/ - Christy

Plymouth Whalers "Feel the Heat Wave"

Instead of watching the Wings game, I drove to London with some of my co-workers (I'm an intern for the Whalers) to watch our team win the conference! Tom Sestito was given a game misconduct early in the game so he sat in the row behind me next to his girlfriend (we were sitting with players' friends and family) and then got to congratulate them after the game. Go Whalers!

    First Round MVP

You have to go with Kipper. He played absolutely fantastic. The series would've ended much quicker if he hadn't been in net. For the Wings? I'm going to go with Dan Cleary for scoring a big goal in Game #5 and just being really physical out there.

TSN reporting Lebda has suffered concussion

I've had 9 knee surgeries including 2 ACL (all in my left knee) and it certainly didn't look good. It definitely looked like he hurt his knee (or ankle at the very least) by sliding into the boards feet first and twisting the way it did. Plus, when he was taken off he couldn't even put weight on it. He had to be helped off the ice (with no weight whatsoever on the leg) and down the locker room hall. Never a good sign. From what we have heard so far, he's gotten a concussion. Hopefully, the leg injury will be minor or nonexistent but it certainly doesn't look that way. I bet he tore a knee ligament of some sort, which sucks considering the Wings defense is already low with Kronner out and now we'll have to call up someone.

TSN reporting Lebda has suffered concussion

I don't think anyone posted this, but Lebda does have a concussion according to MLive.com's Ansar Khan: "First was Daymond Langkow’s sucker-punch on Brett Lebda with 8:35 left in the third period. Lebda has a concussion. He missed three games late in the season with a concussion after a hit from behind by the Blues’ Ville Nieminen. It was a stupid move by Langkow, who the Flames can’t afford to lose for Game 6. All Lebda did was upend him with a low hip check, possibly worthy of a penalty, not a punch."

    GO ALL OUT

I'm having a really hard time not wearing my white Wings jersey, but I am wearing a red Yzerman t-shirt to the game. I'm going to make signs for Draper and Lebda and then I'm off to the Joe. GO WINGS!!

    LGW Fit Club

I for sure would like to lose some weight, but I've just found it to be very difficult to workout. I'm 20 and a sophomore in college (oh, and a chick by the way). I've had 9 knee surgeries and have had chronic knee pain since 2003. I'm not allowed to even walk for exercise that's how sucky my knee is. So cardio is out. I do PT exercises, ab stuff, and upper body. My biggest problem is that I just need to eat healthy and I bet that'd help a lot. Before my knee problems got really bad, I was 5'5" and weighed 115 as a sophomore in high school were I was 6th in the region for 100m dash for my division. I worked out every day for fun. Last spring before my 2nd ACL surgery, I got up to 140. I'm down to 128 right now and ideally would like to hit 120. I just need to start eating healthy. Hopefully this thread will help keep me motivated! Christy

Game 4: (4/19) Red Wings @ Flames (LIVE)

lebda got some stiches and his return is questionable. LET'S GO WINGS!!

Game 4: (4/19) Red Wings @ Flames (LIVE)

The refs have been awful tonight, especially the calls on Lids and Datsyuk. And then it doesn't help that we can't do anything on the PP and then suck it up on the PK. We just need to slow this game down and stay 5-on-5. The Flames have only 2 goals there.

    Detroit Vs Calgary Predictions

I'll pick the Wings in 6. I will be really surprised if the series ends with four or five games. It's going to be a close one.

How much do playoff tickets cost?

I am a member of Red Wings World, which up to this point, had been a waste of my money. However, they do a presale for RWW members and there were plenty of playoff tickets available this year. Due to my budget and the fact that I have no one to go to the games with until home game #3 of the first round, I was only able to buy tickets to 2 games. Round 1 - Home Game #3 (5th overall) - Section 207 [center ice] Row 10 for $100/ticket Round 2 - Home Game #2 (2nd overall) - Section 106 [center ice] Row 2 for $153/ticket I was only planning on buying a pair of tickets in the first round, but how could you pass up second row seats in the second round of the playoffs for only $300? Maybe I'm a sucker, but sitting on or near the glass is like nothing else. Christy P.S. I'm also on the waiting list for season tickets and I too got the email about the 8 or 16 game ticket package, but I never heard anything about buying individual tickets.

    10 Years Later: 03/26/97: Wings 6, Avs 5 (OT)

I showed that game two years ago at Christmas with my dad. After the first fight, our basement was packed with my cousins and uncles as we cheered at a game that we already knew the outcome of. Best hockey game I've ever seen. I collected some quotes, photos, and video clips at my blog: http://www.behindthejersey.com/2007/03/26/happy-anniversary/

    Nice essay on Wings/Avs anniversary

I also did a post in honor of the anniversary, but it's not so much an essay as it is a collection of photos, quotes, and video clips. http://www.behindthejersey.com/2007/03/26/happy-anniversary/ I enjoyed the essay redeyedwings wrote. Christy
