The second unit is so bad. They spend all their time dicking around on the boards just trying to get control of the puck that it's like they're not even on a power play.

Oh you guys, why do you hate little Jiri so? In '09 17 of his 23 goals at even strength. The team could definitely use him over the likes of Bertuzzi or Leino for starters, and possibly some other guys that are getting a pass because they haven't played due to injury.

What makes you think it would? The two are completely 100% unrelated.

He is bad at pinching, and pinches at weird times like when the fourth line is out. He should just be forbidden from pinching because for each time he plays it right, keeps the puck in, and nothing eventually comes of it, there's a time where he screws it up badly and the puck goes in the wrong net.

Amusingly, it was Eaves eagerness to rush out to block a shot that left Boyes wide open at the side of the net for the GWG tonight. I agree, though, that they seem to avoid getting in the way as much as possible. In the past, I think this was by design, because the Wings were going to cruise to a division/conference/league title regardless of whether or not they blocked shots, so they didn't to avoid any unnecessary injury. In the present, there's no good explanation. Other than we miss the Pain Train, of course.
