    Scoring issues solved

He didn't win the Selke in 2006 broski. He scored 24 goals in '04 and won it, but a lot of that had to do with the fact that the Wings had a ton of injuries for a long ass time, and he was getting way more ice time than usual (even PP time) as a result.

Honestly, it looked like Hank was skating in cement for most of the game. He got his feet moving a little in the third but I can't say I was impressed. The goal was a great execution play between him and Nick (and probably more than a little luck to lob perfectly into the top corner), but I'm still waiting for Hank to be Hank. Remarkably, for all that, he's still got 7 points in 6 games.

Well timed needless offensive zone penalty, Maltby. EDIT: That didn't take long.

A surprisingly competent penalty kill. I'm impressed.

Well, they managed a period where they scored two goals, gave up none, and still didn't look very good. Ozzie has easily been the best Wing tonight.

Kings are begging to be put away here. Dumb, dumb penalties.

These guys need to put some stickum on their blades, I've seen more bobbled pucks in this game than I have in a lifetime. And now another random power play is here.

Murph putting a positive spin on that period.

You're quoting the undisputed world champion in all relevant categories, and he's got nowhere to go but up. I shudder to think what will happen if he reaches his true potential.

    Tomas Holmstrom and more

Even in his last season Steve was one of the Wings' best players after he got back onto a scoring line when Bob got hurt in December, and in the playoffs he was outstanding, probably the team's best player behind Hank and Bob. Even at his most hobbled there was never a time when Steve "cost the Wings wins."

    Cam Ward Save

It looked like the puck was a bit in Guerin's feet, and it was all he could do to shovel it at the net, which is why it was so close to the far side (and towards the goalie) than towards the more empty near side. Nevertheless, tremendous effort on Ward's part to read the tic tac toe play, fall over and glove it.

I like their old school purple and gold, as well as the Gretzky era silver and black, better than the current purple and black getup.
