Did I just see Homer make a crisp pass to Datsyuk in stride. It's a miracle! More! -

These guys seriously cannot complete one pass. This is very distressing. They've gotta get going on this PP. -

These guys are way out of sync. They can't complete a pass. -

Are you kidding? This guy has been a beast for the Wings in two consecutive playoffs. -

I think Eaves is getting in tonight. -
I anticipated this type or response, but if the Wings wanted to get rid of Maltby they would have done it by now. I suspect that by the time the playoffs come around he'll be finding himself on the bench more often than not under optimal circumstances, 'optimal' being the operative word. You can never have enough depth.

Probably, former Wings score like crazy whenever they roll into town. He'll notch one while falling on his ass for no discernible reason. -
He would get claimed.

I can't decide whether this or ESAD's masterpiece is the bigger troll thread plaguing the front page right now. The enforcer thread is about twice as long, but I think Ninety-Sux has made more with less. Thoughts?

That's a bit disingenuous, broski, he was a deadline acquisition. -

I stand corrected on the two-way thing, but that status still doesn't protect them from having to clear waivers. EDIT: I'm glad egroen is here to be smart and figure this sort of thing out for me. -

Abdelkader is an injury call up. The team is free to move players up and down to fill Helm's spot until he's healthy. Helm isn't on a two-way deal, but whether or not he was isn't really important anyways, because it doesn't excuse a player from having to pass waivers. Helm would not clear waivers, May would. EDIT: Clarity. -

Helm is a full-timer in the bigs now. He wouldn't clear waivers if he were sent down anyways. If someone has to go because the Wings are out of cap space, it's going to be May, which is why he's on the two-way deal. -

Staring 0-3 (against division opponents no less) in the face I expect the guys to come out and have a big game. No excuses, put these boys in their place. -
Even in 1998, his second to last season in the NHL, with a bad back that had hampered him for years, he still finished T-3rd in the NHL in scoring (and a point behind second place). This was right in the middle of the dead puck era where you were lucky to get more than one guy to finish with 100 points in a season. The guy could flat out play.

All AO, all the time.

Sure is lateral movement in here.

I try not to take what Ninety-Sux says too seriously, but holy freaking moly, you best be trollin'.

Outside of a couple nice runs AP went nowhere; Vikings offense was all Favre. Well, sort of. I would say the Vikings O-line is the unsung heroes. Seven seconds to sit in the pocket and make a pass? Zero sacks? It's cool that you loaded up to stop the run, Packers, but you're not beating anyone if you can't get to the quarterback. I'm sure Aaron Rodgers was green with envy when comparing the protection he got. Eight sacks? EIGHT?! He hung in the pocket too long once or twice but there's just no excuse. Jared Allen went beast mode all over the Packer's line and they had no answer. I don't know yet if they're the real deal or not, but the NFC North, and the playoff spot that comes along with winning it, is the Viking's (and Favre's!) to lose now.
