Heatley traded to Sharks for Michalek, Cheecho, 2nd Round Pick

I think Thornton and Heater are going to be an absolutely lethal combonation, but he's not that kind of player either. -
Cruel joke of the week: Matt Millen calling the Michigan game.

Wouldn't be surprised if Heatley gets 60+ goals. Should be a good combo. -
Thanks, I was getting carried away with that Cloutier optimism.
-
He isn't signed to a contract. And, in all likelihood, won't be.
-
Can't be arsed to read the OP, eh? Malkin, and I've got no idea how Crosby ended up in front of him on this one.
-
Done and done.

Good point. People might not want to hear it, but in the playoffs they also ran into a pretty extraordinary string of bad luck on the PK for a while where they'd do everything right and minimize scoring chances for a minute and fifty seconds, and then one stupid point shot would get through and pick the corner, or ricochet off six guys and then to an open man with a yawning cage. It was getting downright silly after it persisted for like a dozen games. No arguments from me.
-
The PK was pretty dreadful all season, with and without Lilja.
-
Not exactly. He never led the team in scoring during the season. He did set the franchise playoff scoring record with 21 points in 1988 (his famous 60 points-400 PIM campaign), which stood until Steve surpassed it a decade later.

Tell me about it. Wouldn't be nice if we got a marquee match up for opening day instead of Florida crushing some D1-AA school or Ohio State routing a service academy (oh wait, snicker)? Then again, Oregon manned up and took the Day 1 plunge and look what that got them.

Detroit should take a chance on William Wallen in the next draft

And so does Jiri Hudler, as long as we're on this line of thought. -
College ball doesn't need anything to be anything, it always keeps on rollin', but that annual match up between powerhouses was a good time.
-
Definitely the best game of the week. College ball used to stop for that match up, it's too bad both programs are going through a slump.
-
Imposible, mi amigo.
-
Fish sticks is really tearin' it up, ain't he?
-
He was good, scored a ton right off the hop when he came here. He got hurt though, thems the breaks.
-
I remember Pavel's sweet no-look backhand over Luongo's shoulder when he was still with the Cats, but he doesn't utilize his backhand very often.
-
And tackling?! Is that how you're supposed to stop the opposing offense? Whoda thunk it?!!!!! This game is good for my soul after the last two home openers.
-
Well, this little Forcier fella is better in one half than Threetidan was in every snap they ever took. My apathy has transformed into overwhelming optimism. It's crazy! The QBs are mobile! Hell, they're flat out running! Fake handoffs! It's like a real college football spread offense!!

I was planning on turning the game off as everybody walked onto the field but I'm glad I didn't. What a s***storm. The full story is that the Bronco he socked came up to him and gave him a light shove just beforehand, but holy moly. Afterwards Blount totally lost his mind, he had all 3-4 of those guys dragging him out of the stadium into the tunnel the entire way, the whole scene lasted like 20 seconds.

With the worst goaltender in playoff history. The number of critical, back breaking soft goals he surrendered was unforgivable, and I'll never forget that that was how we were forced to send off Steve.
-
It's not a "Top 100 Players in Hockey" list, it's weighted by fantasy stats, which places significance on stuff like PIMs and power play points.

Although I know the Wings also have a large out of state fanbase, I would think most Wings fans, if they enjoy basketball, would be Pistons fans.
