WCF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6, at Blackhawks 1
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
It helped that the refs had the stones to put them in the box for their transgressions. I was genuinely shocked that they were gutsy enough to hand out a two man advantage to the winning team, then call another penalty right after those PPs had expired, despite it obviously being the right calls. For all the railing referees get here and everywhere, they certainly put their foot down on childish crybaby sore losers today. -
Hossa is just money in Game 4s.

Hossa with the obligatory two-goal Game 4. Also, sigh at crybaby ***** Hawks. Waaaah! We can't mount a comeback against a real team! Why don't you go watch some tape of the Flames and Nucks series and relive your only moments of playoff glory you sore losers. Men versus boys, seriously. Finally, double lulz to Brian Campbell being on the ice for the first four goals-- including being hte VERY LAST PLAYER BACK on Hossa's shorty. Seriously, how did he end up so far away from the puck? AND to Mike Emrick for being hilariously non-neutral half way through the game, saying "It's a shame this [united Center] crowd won't get to see another home game," all but throwing Game 5 to the Wings. -
Seconded. No complaints on the Lebda front. Meech has never shown me anything to convince me that he's worthy of a regular season roster spot, let alone playoffs.
-
'Nuff said.

This thread is much less fun sans vitriol. Probably if Ovechkin keeps going full bore like he is now his career won't be as long (or he just won't be as good as long) as Crosby or Malkin, so that puts his chances at accruing more awards in jeopardy, but all things being equal I'd pick Ovechkin to win any major award ahead of Malkin or Crosby, but not by an appreciably large amount. I'm sure the Hart and Ross will change hands between them more than once, although AO's obviously got his paws on the Richard for the foreseeable future.

Time for winnin' and winnin', and not losin'. -
Why have you made this post when you had the option to not make it.
-
The Cup Finals won't start until June 5th, so there's going to be plenty of time for the winner of either Conference Final.
-
Lucky break off the officials skate, but the score speaks for itself... the Canes are out-classed here, and by a wide margin.
-
Versus and NBC, in some misguided attempt to remain neutral I guess, don't show penalties. CBC and FSN do it. Just one more reason why national hockey coverage in the US is ******* amateur hour.
-
Yeah, if the Wings win the next two games they'll have ten days off... Pretty absurd.
-
For instance, Dustin Byfuglien coming in and running Kronwall after his (at that time still) legal check...
-
The thing I said was true for me, because I'm not particularly old, but I'm aware that not everyone in the universe shares the same age as me.
-
I know, I was just goofing around.

He's just arguing semantics. Havlat wasn't literally "in possession" of the puck on his stick, but the hit was legal by NHL standards because it was right there in his feet. The words in the rulebook regarding a pick implies that the player getting interfered with doesn't have the puck, which is textbook interference; whereas in this case Havlat did, which is the distinction between a legal check and interference. Havlat being directly on top of the puck pretty much torpedoes any attempt at justifying the penalty via the call made on the ice: "interference."
-
I assume that we've seen the last of Pavel in this series then.
-
Considering the Wings have been a great team year after year since I've been alive I suppose you could say that.
-
Yeah, on the replays you can see he's gone limp by the time they touch down. He was gone.
-
I like the expression on Guy Just Left Of Nik's Rear's face.
-
Horses*** call, indeed. Officially an "interference" call with the puck 2 inches away from Havlat's stick. Cute.
-
Well, there you go.
-
^^This. We were major confused at what was going on there in the third. My understanding has always been you dress the two goalies, and if one gets hurt then you got one goalie, and if he gets hurt then you dress one of your skaters and he plays goal -- which is about 10000x less fair then just having a third stringer suit up out of nowhere, but them's the rules.

WCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blackhawks 4 (OT)

I was at Cheli's and couldn't hear what was going on, what was the deal with that goalie they had on the bench after Khabi was pulled? They didn't really have three goalies dressed, did they...?
