If it's broke, try and fix it. Might as well change something up.

Yeah.

He had a really nice slap pass on a PP earlier, kept the puck in on the Wings goal (shame he didn't get an assist) and overall looked good. That penalty call on him was an absolute joke.

WCSF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
That wasn't much fun to watch. The Wings had four or five opportunities to put the puck into vacant nets and it just wasn't happening. Very frustrating. Not to harp on the officiating, which I thought was good for 55 minutes, but what in the flying hell was with the Rafalski call? Holding? What? He didn't even put a hand on the guy. He checked him. He was playing hockey. Terrible. The offside call was close enough that I'll give the linesman a pass (I thought it was offside at game-speed) but it really hurts to see that happening so late in such a critical situation. The Wings were never able to get the puck in the zone and set up with the sixth skater after that. In conclusion, whatever. Just win Thursday. If Datsyuk scored a few goals then, that would be lovely. -
Born and raised in the burbs of Detroit, Michigan. When my Dad was a boy, his dad would take him to Wings games at the Olympia, and Lions and Tigers games at Tiger Stadium. He loved Detroit sports and so do I.

Can't say for certain, but that seems likely. -

I'm sure Mac was just brought up to be a good character guy in the dressing room and stuff. He never had a shot of getting into the line up. Considering how good the Wings have been in the last two games there's no way they'd make any changes (besides the obvious addition of Rafalski). They're been pretty well-behaved in the series, all things considered. Unless it gets really out of hand late I don't anticipate anything out of the ordinary. -
Chicago Columnist: Blackhawks should want no part of Wings
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
They didn't, and did in fact lose the season series, but only by technicality. The Wings won four times and lost twice, but two of those wins were in a shootout. It's neither here nor there, being that it was only the regular season. From what I've seen, the Hawks are a run and gun team, which doesn't bode well for them if they run afoul with the Wings. I'll have more to say after tonight, hopefully. -

Being down 3-2 to the Wings is a death sentence. I see no reason for this not to continue. Finish this! -

I am utterly defeated if that store is not, in fact, named Meijer's. ... ... ... f***. -

At even-strength... -
What a lame goal to end an epic game. Ovechkin should have gotten in on that bomb at the start of OT. Oh well. Game 7 will be a blast.

Things be what they are now, it's all kinds of crazy that Sammy was on that team and Franzen wasn't.

I love the Babcock glare.

I have posted, and in doing so, assured victory. I will now take a nap.

Rafalski practices for the first time in 12 days

If he gets in he'll be rusty, but he's better than 3-5 minutes of Chelios/Meech, and he'll help the power play immensely. Fingers crossed. -
Onsides and Offsides Rule - Control or No Control

You can enter the zone in reverse, so long as that's what you intend to do. It is rare that a player is in a position to purposefully do this. -

Onside. You can enter the zone backwards if you have control of the puck. -
I feel pretty terrible for the guy at this point. He's done everything he possibly can and the puck just won't go in the net. That flip play over the net was utterly brilliant.

WCSF GAME 5 GDT: Ducks 1 at Red Wings 4
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
For as much as the Wings were absolutely dominating the play, they are having some hard luck scoring goals. But three is good enough to win. And if you can hold your opponent to one with good defense (and one outstanding save or two) that's all you ever really need. I'm so relieved and proud of this team. For the sake of our collective sanity, they have to close this one out Tuesday. -
I said it! I can't unsay it!
