Jesus, there's been more power play hockey in this game than ES. That call looked like a love tap.
-
Nice rebounds on bad angle wrist shots, brah.
-
Giroux doing his best to make up for that slash for sure.
-
Brutal goal across the boards. Flyers standing around everywhere and Crosby makes them look like fools.
-
Hell yeah last ten seconds of the period. Scrubs!
-
Those fellas in orange ought to take up permanent residence in that there box.
-
Awesome. I hope there's a line brawl after every whistle.

I've seen both Blues games and they just need a guy that finish a scoring chance. Not miss the net, hit the post, shoot it into the goalie. Kariya can pick a corner, this would be huge for them.

Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
This guy is just talking a tough game. His own words betray him: "They need to find something, anything, that works to get the puck past Osgood." He's channeling the Jackets right now: desperation with a healthy side of frustration. -
If he hadn't scored the goal, he still would have been the best player on the ice. That's how amazing Pavel Datsyuk is right now. It's difficult to entertain the thought that after the season he had, there's still another level to his game.
-
That's the name of the game. The two need each other. Everything seems to have fallen neatly into place, which is unbelievably bad news for the rest of the NHL.

Had a blast with the guys at Cheli's. Undoubtedly fueled by the Wings basically playing the ultimate hockey game. I was surprised to see that they managed 25 shots on Oz, but most of them weren't much good and the ones that were were turned aside like so many others these first two games. The 0.5 GAA looks sharp, Oz. Nice to see everybody contributing tonight: Homer, Hossa, Pavel, Hank, Dano, Nick, Nik, Rafalski, Rex, you name it. The perfect team win. -
I believe conspiracy theories are silly.
-
Well, can say I wasn't expecting a 1-0 game, or 2-0 Rangers.
-
Even if this were true, you think Michel Therrien crying during an SCF press conference was the impetus for the crackdown? This is what you indicated above. In any event, the Wings took less minor penalties this year than last year. The primary reason for the Wings' troubles on defense was absolutely the Stanley Cup hangover.
-
That's a massive leap of logic. Therrien complaining about the Wings in the Finals is what caused the Wings' team GAA and PK% to drop like a rock over 82 games, three months after the fact? Nonsense.

Sorry bro, Avs fan and anaerobic. TPBM has scaled a mountain before (or I'll mock him incessantly for his sissiness). -

Hank with two touchdowns passes to Pavel, and Homer will bang one home on a goal line rush. Wings 21, Jackets 0. -

Goals against average is calculated in minutes played, not games played. Any time the goalie leaves the net for an extra attacker, either late game or delayed penalty, his goals against should go up ever so slightly; and any time a goalie is yanked, his GAA for that single night is usually monstrous as part of giving up multiple goals in often a third or half of a game. With that said, Mason played 59:52 of the last game and Ozzie played 59:54. Calculating their GAA with the proper formula puts Mason at 4.008 (rounding up to 4.01) and Ozzie at 1.001 (rounding down to 1). Some sites (including NHL.com) chose not reflect this, while others (namely Yahoo!) do. -
I didn't even know he was their captain. I figured Elias would have gotten a hold of that C by now.
-
$5,000,000 worth of one good tip right there.
-
The Nucks would have about six goals by now if they didn't miss every shot.
