Women -- In the Upper Tiers of Hockey?
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Datsyerberger's topic in General
By your own definition she would basically be a freak of nature... So biology is a good reason it wouldn't occur. It's possible, in the same way that anything's possible, but considering there's not been anything close to date I wouldn't hold my breath. The history of hockey has thus far provided a sufficient counterpoint. -
I admit, that's pretty outrageous. It's been a long time since we've seen numbers like that from a rearguard.

LOL THOSE SOFT EUROS AMIRITE

Ditch the shootout, bring back ties, remove the OTL point, everybody wins. You get points for winning or being just as good as the other guy, not losing.

He did with Carolina as a deadline acquisition.

If I weren't lactose intolerant, that would have sent milk flying out of my nose. Well played, GMR.

Wings-Duck in '07. Before that, Wings-Avs '02.

'Bout time.

Score one for brevity.

Wow, Red Machine, that's a helluva story. For being such a beast on the ice the guy sure was a giant teddy bear off it. It's been a rough year for Mr. Hockey, but let's give it up for the greatest ever.

You just know so much about hockey, mindfly. You teach us all. -
Probable that the good games former players have against Detroit stand out more to me and everyone than the games where they don't do s***, but I can remember at least two games; one against Anaheim where he had two goals and two assists, and the other with C-bus where he had the shootout winner.

It's kind of passed off as a truism that you can't flip a switch for some reason. I can understand the desire for your team to be rolling into the playoffs, but considering we've seen teams enter the postseason on a losing streak and win, sometimes win it all, it doesn't mean much to me. -

I didn't like any part of the third goal. Blindly throwing the puck up the middle by Stuart, and then Ozzie with the five hole shot. It was a shame too, he read the play, got over with plenty of time, and let it get by anyways. I'd say there are plenty of goalies who would have left a yawning cage for Smithson to slam it into, but it's disappointing because Chris Osgood can make that save and he didn't. -

The seeding issue is a legitimate one if you believe the match ups favor the number one seed. I'm not so sure about that, but match ups are important nonetheless. It's upsetting, but not at all unforeseen, that they would drop the ball like this given how rarely they've seen fit to grace us with a 60 minute effort, but what's done is done. I don't think the team's nearly as bad as they've been showing this year, and when they've risen to the occasion against "worthy" foes their ability is evident. It's hard to ignore all the dicking around and nonsense but at the end of the day that gives me some peace of mind. -

Without concern to his play this season, which speaks for itself, this is only an accurate remark if you became a hockey fan four years ago. Which is fine in and of itself, but at least do your homework before making such declarations. As far as the game's concerned, well... ZzzZzzz wake me when the playoffs start. -
That's a bit of an exaggeration; they're probably going to be looking at 26-30 minutes a night. That's a bit of bump up from what they're averaging now, but not too drastic a leap.

Things run hot and cold.

Bucci and Barry also mentioned how any contact with a skate is a no-goal, as opposed to the "distinct kicking motion" NHL rules.

I was watching the ND-UNH game for lack of anything else better to do... Although it was preempted by seven overtimes of lacrosse, itself a mutant form of field hockey I was somewhat fascinated by. Something seemed off in the college game, it occurred to me there was no idiotic trapezoid along the goal line, a nice change of scenery.

I think Green's gaudy numbers will win the day, but "there is no clear cut front runner" strikes me as a perfectly valid argument.

If I didn't love hockey so much, I'd just skip the rest of the regular season and tune back in for the playoffs. If they don't care, then why should I care? Odds are low they actually meet San Jose in the WCF, and obviously the President's Trophy isn't a big goal of theirs anyways. -

Yeah, chances are low for Nick to bag 11 points in the next 8 games. -
I think I made my post perfectly clear, but for your benefit: They can.

Delightful.
