Seriously... How do these guys have jobs?
-
The leaping lion doesn't need angry eyes. Begone, foul thing.
-
Big Rig couldn't get any mustard on it... Since there was an Oiler mugging him on his way to the net...
-
Almost certainly a partial line change. Pavel didn't get off.
-
Datsyuk just never runs out of moves.
-
Wherein he cleverly rhymes the words "things" with "things" in the chorus (hint, if it's the same word it's not a rhyme you nob), and is on the radio incessantly.
-
Wings looked like they were having a hard time receiving passes and hanging onto the puck... Dunno, just keep on keepin' on.
-
Legit call. Cleary had tunnel vision on Hank and the puck.
-
Same Downies that we had last night calling the game.

Concussion keeps Andreas Lilja's career on hold
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to I Red Wings I's topic in General
You must be forgetting the context of the situation. Lilja skated up to Weber, at the end of his own shift, and slammed him to the ice from behind without any immediately preceding provocation. That was incredibly stupid on his part if he wasn't ready to fight (as some have suggested), but maybe he was, and in any event, Weber came up and due to Lilja actions it was go time. He was either going to fight or turtle. In his defense, he said himself that he was essentially KO'd standing up. The first punch scrambled his brains and unfortunately he didn't fall over, turning a one-hit knockout into what appeared to be a beatdown. He's a good fighter, but sometimes you lose. -
If the season had started six or seven games ago, no one would give it a second thought. This is gonna happen. The season being what it has means Ozzie's under the microscope at this juncture -- or, given that it's the Red Wings, more so than usual. It was all quite absurd, but chalk it up to incompetence over partiality.

Through about 50 minutes there I felt like both defenses were doing a really good job of preventing anything from happening. Had it not been for Ozzie's softies there wouldn't have been any goals at all for a while. Once the Flames dropped back into a defensive posture the Wings took advantage and scored, because that's what usually happens when you drop back into a defensive posture, but obviously the deficit was too big when combined with the ******* goals that were waived off. The Kronwall one was a goddamn joke, the whistle went before the puck had even rebounded off the backboards. Seriously? Isn't it somebody's job to follow the puck and the play and make good judgments? I hate to blame officiating because normally, despite the unfair, amoral universe that we live in, things tend to even out. Tonight, Ozzie's bad start was half and the horrendous refereeing was the other, there's no two ways about it. The Wings deserved better.
-
Uno, mi amigo. I refuse to believe that through sixty minutes of hockey the Flames committed just one infraction.
-
And the screwjob is complete.
-
I hate to talk about refereeing, but this has been a jobbing.
-
And look who's missing their jock after that play. Everyone's favorite overrated dbag, Dion Phaneuf. Think he's about used up all that goodwill he made for himself in his rookie year?
-
Here we go!
-
Ain't over yet, gang.
-
Well, this game has been stupid as hell.
-
That moron blew the whistle before the puck even came back off the backboards.
-
Seriously?
-
Wherein Larry Murphy yells at some guys.
-
Huge goal. Looked like goalie interference to me though, to be honest.
-
Awww isn't that cute, Sammy wants to be Pavel.
-
He totally shot it when he turned Phaneuf inside-out, but it hit Kopecky's skate.
